Duke Special played 5 special concerts at the Empire in 2013, each on a different theme and with a different backing band. The first was a traditional set up with Duke's house band, playing his greatest hits. The second was a rock show, with General Fiasco as his backing band, playing rock covers. The third was themed as a silent movie show, with special guests the Arco Quartet. The fourth show was based around Duke's admiration for the songwriter Harry Nilsson, featuring special guest Hannah Peel. The fifth was a Christmas show played in the round, with the audience surrounding the band, playing Christmas songs - and though this was recorded, it was not featured in the concert video.
