    The best!!!!

My favorite true crime podcast and now TV show! The way storyteller Mike Boudet speaks about the cases is intelligent, factual, and to the point. Not a lot of random chatter. Sword & Scale takes the time to research the cases and bring an unbiased reporting of each case. Real police interviews, 911 calls, audio evidence is used when ever possible and applicable. This is the only true crime podcast I listen to. Each episode is a new case and as of April 1st 2024, the TV has also begun airing and it is powerful and takes this already amazing podcast and adds a strong emotionally powerful visual TV show!

Possibly the best true crime podcast if not for...

I've been listening to this true crime podcast for years. In fact it's become virtually the only true crime podcast I even listen to these days. It had always been. Solid 10 for me. Until the last few years. Unfortunately the host has decided to continually bring his personal drama into the shows narrative. It never used to bother me when it was slight comments. Not to mention, the host has gone full on MAGA which is bleeding into the content. But now he's going into full blown tirades about his personal feelings and tries to work it into the storyline of the show. Just tell the story. It's great otherwise. 6/10.

Disappointed. He's gone downhill and needs mental help.

I used to listen to this but I cannot stomach the host. He is miserable and ignorant at best. I say stay away from it. His content is full of bias opinions. I suggest look for other podcasts. There are so many other really good ones with facts and unbiased hosts that sound like they are on the edge of being one of the true crime stories themselves. A host makes the show what it is. This one needs to hand this one over. The content is ok, but the host tries to tell the story in such a way that it intends to be more of his opinion vs all facts. I've listened to a few that I knew of in real life. I knew the facts. He misguided his listeners on those facts. It's a bit manipulative. I guess that's what modern 'journalism' aims for. It's a gaslighting tactic that I noticed with this host and many others. I recommend to stay clear of this show. I can only imagine the cringe and hurt the family would get hearing and knowing this guy is out their telling their dearly departed's story the way he does. Sad.

    Used to be a 10/10

I rarely leave reviews but I think this one needed to be said. This podcast has amazing writers that tell intriguing stories while also diving deep into the psychology and trials but the only bad part is the host. He used to keep most of his biased and arrogant views to himself but recently he just goes on spouts about the younger generation, left side politics, and even victim blaming is common. He constantly complains and always find a way to talk about himself. Please go back to him keeping his personal opinions where the belong. (The garbage) If you are looking for a podcast that isn't trying to attack you all the time I recommend Morbid. They actually care about their fans rather than then incel.

    Used to be great.

This used to be a great podcast. Excellent storytelling by an engaging host. There were always technical issues - the sound was never leveled properly, for example - but it was darn good storytelling. Over the last few years, though, this podcast has gone way downhill.

Instead of focusing on content, every new release has more and more of the time dedicated to the grousing and complaining of the host. He victim-blames, woman-shames, and insults the entirety of GenZ. It has basically gone from a 100% True Crime podcast to a 68% podcast and 22% the host basically yelling "Get off my lawn."

It's unfortunate, but its become cringey and unlistenable. Also, it's shockingly expensive. But I would have paid that cost for the old show. Probably.
