An 18-year-old orphan who is dying wants to travel to Europe to track down her mother, so when she meets a kind-hearted young man who is recovering from the guilt of a fatal accident, she convinces him to accompany her on the journey. See You on Venus follows Mia (Virginia Gardner) and Kyle (Alex Aiono), two misfit American teens who travel to Spain in search of Mia's birth mother. As the pair road trip through the picturesque cities of Andalusia and fall in love, they discover that the most important question isn't who gave you life but what you decide to do with it.
To begin with, they are doing the itinerary in a way that I dream of doing, a tour of France (Europe as a whole would be my preference), in a mini motorhome, a Kombi, deliciously perfect... A cute teen movie, full of traumatized teenagers, but with a high spirit and joy that warms our hearts... Beautiful photography, basic script, convincing couple...

After a horrible car accident, kyle is totally devastated. Out of the blue, he meets mia, and she convinces him to join her on the trip to spain, which she already had planned. At first, kyle is a jerk, and won't speak, but after a while (for some reason...) he warms up to her. Kyle even offers to buy her a shirt when she spills something on her own. Although she flat out refuses to wear one of his... which would have been the easier solution... odd. And everywhere they go, they drive right up to where they want to be.... they never seem to have to look for tourist parking. I'm guessing this was written for a younger audience. At about the midpoint, a secret comes out, that changes their relationship completely. Can they go back to at least being friends? Will mia ever find her mother? She and kyle seem to be (finally) honest with each other, and may even help each other. But there are more secrets to come out. Cute little story, in spite of some plot-holes, and silly script issues; were so many things unsaid for a reason, or was it just bad editing? Or maybe a weak script? It's pretty good... script needed a little juicing up. Directed by joaquín llamas. It looks like he has done mostly television prior to this. Story by victoria vinuesa. This definitely has the feel that it started out as someone's personal story. And was jazzed up to make a good film. It's mostly good. A little over-sentimental, for the sake of the heart strings.
Acting is pretty atrocious from almost every character. Everything is stiff, the music is predictably cheesy and immature, like the background of a barney episode.
Script is predictable, cliche, and well, dorky.
It seems like an AI wrote this script.
All the scenes seem really rushed, like this was a first time director just trying things out for the first time, and wanting to get everything done in one take.
Seriously, you could guess the next line of each character. That's how predictable everything is. Here's the part what they cry, here's the loving father son moment, etc.
Don't waste you time. There are much better movies in this genre.

First of all, I must say that the movie was good, especially for this era where emotions have faded. It can bring the power of love back to the screen. It's true that the movie was cliché, but as we all know, films with clichéd themes can still have a significant impact if well executed. Especially in a world that needs these kinds of films to remind people of the strength of love. Just like there were issues in the movie, I don't have a problem with its clichéd nature. However, the director and the writer could have added depth to the emotions in many places with some changes. The cinematographer could have captured the depth of emotions more effectively in many emotional scenes through skilled camera movement, and at least prevent the cinematography from being too clichéd. The writer could have crafted stronger dialogues, especially during the climax of the film. Personally, I would rate the cinematography a 6 out of 10, the dialogues a 5 out of 10, and overall, I would give the film a rating of 5 to 5.2 for its effort in portraying love.
