A lonely old man Drago finds a fallen tree on the road. He plants it in the yard. When the tree grows, Drago is surprised - the tree speaks. It says "Merci", but it doesn't know what kind of tree it is. Apple, pear, plum? Drago is very glad that he has found a companion. It turns out that the tree can walk, so it follows its owner. When winter comes, hard days come for Drago. The cold is terrible, and the firewood is running out. The fireplace is out, so he goes to bed wrapped up with everything possible.
