Plot
A rich divorcee Chris falls in love with a mysterious woman Sky where Chris, ex-wife and his child eventually gets trapped and a desperate fight for survival will most likely ensue.
Cast
Cameron "Gotham" Monaghan, John Malkovich and Frank Grillo.
Verdict
A movie night flick that was picked practically at random otherwise I may never have gotten round to this, in fact I'd never even heard of it.
So let's put it out there, this is not original stuff not even close. You'll predict everything from the outset and it throws you absolutely no surprises at all. Now we've got that damning factor out the way let me say that the journey itself isn't handled that poorly, it's just ruined by the predictability. The cast however are a very inconsistent mix, Grillo is basically Grillo the very same character he plays in everything. Monaghan comes across like he's not trying, Malkovich just has fun with it as if he's not even trying! But Lilly Krug, now she puts in a remarkably performance here and quite frankly steals the whole movie.
Shattered isn't bad, it's just not good either.
Rants
With fantasy, scifi and horror movies you have to suspend a lot of disbelief but with thrillers you shouldn't need to. Our lead must be horrifyingly stupid to fall for what happens, and that in itself is not believable and kills much of the movie for me. Why would you set yourself up for such a fall?
Breakdown
Lilly Krug is excellent Has its moments Stupidly predictable Grillo is just, Grillo.

There is absolutely no thinking required with this movie. It is entirely predictable from first five minutes in. There are absolutely no plot twists or any excitement whatsoever.
Note to myself: If I can afford a very, very rich house, invest in a guest house, and only let any strangers stay in the guest house.
Like someone else said, if a stranger girl lets you sleep with her within 30 minutes, something is wrong here.

Is John Malkovich OK? Seriously - he's very out of place in this ill-conceived idea of a "thriller".
An amalgam of ideas from past classics stitched together for a freshman writing class. Embarrassing acting performances, especially the female lead - to the point where you question if the writer, director and actors were trying to make something purposefully bad as some sort of a statement? I don't understand either.
Dear Mr. Malkovich - blink twice if you are in trouble.

No imagination at all with this film, very unoriginal. You know whats going to happen pretty much straight away.
The acting, especially from the main female (sky) was downright appalling. Turned off halfway through.

I feel bad for Malkovich and Grillo having to have this mess on their resume, they both deserve much better. The only other convincing performances was from the lovely Sasha Luss and Ash Santos. Experienced actor Cameron Monaghan seemed bored and barely awake, yet newb actress Lilly Krug performed her heart out as Sky, but was just too much, and came across borderline annoying.
Directing by Luis Prieto was decent although bland, and the cinematography and score were on point. But David Loughery's screenplay was unremarkable and predictable, and had every cliche for this genre. At least the pacing was decent, that the 92 min runtime got to the ending quick enough.
It's an ok one-time watch, even if just to see Malkovich and Grillo having a great time, and/or Lilly Krug, putting some sweet lingerie to good use. It's a generous 6/10 from me.

The girl was extremely cute and charming, the 1 or 2 star ratings are a joke, the movies isn't that bad nor the acting. Quick fix for a thriller buzz and beats normal TV.

This is a low-quality movie through and through. Only 5 minutes in does it become laughably bad. As soon as lead actress Lilly Krug begins speaking, it sounds off. I was immediately aware of the audio dubbing and it wouldn't surprise me at all if I found out it was voiced by a different actress.
To make it worse, the dialogue is terrible. A line early on reminded me of The Room with the way it was delivered. There are also a bunch of lines that feel off, as if a non-American was writing for American characters. For example, "I don't live far from here, you can come over to mine." I believe that's English slang, something no American would say. Most commonly it would be, "my place." Another example is, "I've got an admission to make," rather than "I have to admit something."
Now combine the bad audio dubbing and poorly written dialogue with a really bad performance by the lead actress and you have a recipe for disaster. I don't know how much of this is the actress's fault, anyone can give a bad performance if they're directed poorly with a bad script. One thing she does get right is the sex appeal aspect because she is unbelievably attractive.
Other than that, this is a generally terrible movie with tons to make fun of. Especially when characters make huge decisions late in the movie that come out of nowhere, to the point of laughter. There are continuity errors and other random little things. Like Sky wearing the same blouse in three different scenes, as if they were shot back to back but then inserted other scenes in between. Blouse to hot tub to the same blouse to the next day in a different outfit to the same blouse.
It's unfortunate because, if done right, this could have been a fun premise. (1 viewing, 3/13/2022)

Sure, this isn't an *amazing* movie, but I don't regret watching it! I just wonder if the director knows someone with trypophobia that they wanted to mess with though because soooooo many backdrops triggered mine LOL.

The acting was bad, the story was bad, the whole movie was predictable and cliche. Overall, just no, don't do it, don't waste your time. Go find something better to do.

Paid $6 to watch this for 20 minutes. B movie all the way. This was one of those movies that you could plainly see was going to be a huge waste of time. My wife agreed, and we moved on.
Lilly Krug was perfectly cast as the femme fatale. Cameron (Shameless star) was believable in his part. The only major miscast was John Malkovich who was simply overqualified for his odd but part. It made me sad to see the legend reduced to such a wasted minor role. Even if you don't love the film, it's only 92 minutes and never boring.

There is no way this movie got a score over 3 stars unless the cast, their friends and their families voted for it to bring it up. The worst part is the story The poorly written lies do yourself a favor and watch the news or anything else or just look up the sky it's going to be a better spend time.
This is a copy and paste of a couple other movies I've seen. If I'm not mistaken Keanu Reeves was in 1 similar. Hot chic shows up and screws up guy. Some end differently but this 1 had a spot I kinda didn't see coming at the end.

Is this a pun or a German saying? Or maybe both? I would argue both - and while you may not be able to understand the pun or the saying if you are not German speaking, do not worry too much about it. The movie may have some coincidental events and some things that may make you cringe too - it does work as a neat little thriller too.
Can we figure out what is wrong with some people? I would argue no. You can't argue or try to understand how some brains work. There is no sound or logic to the behaviour - which is why you can't say that some actions don't make sense. Of course they do not make sense - that is the point of it all.
That being said, the young actress by the name Krug is someone to look out for. All the actors are good in this, especially considering that the turning point or the first "major" twist is quite easy to guess. So no brownie points for you then.
Nudity, violence (not easy to watch) and enough suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. And an angelic face that is so much more than that ...

This film gives us the lesson of the rich should be careful of who you're falling in love with. Some people want to become rich but they don't realise that the more they rich, the more danger they are in. So, as for me, it'd better not to become that much rich. After I watched it, I realised it more and more.
The plot is simple, but it kind of gives you some enjoyable moments. So, although it has flaws, but it was good. Thriller thing of this film really gave me thrilled. While I was watching it, my feet got cold and I was feeling anxious. So, yeah, thriller really works.
Anyway, a lot of people might think this film isn't good, but as for me, I enjoyed it.

Everyone involved in the making of this film should be embarrassed and banned from making anything else! I'm sad for John Malkovich and Frank Grillo that they found themselves embroiled in this travesty. My eyes hurt, I expect my IQ has probably dropped a couple of notches and I'm sure my TV deserves better.

Lilly Krug is unfortunately another nepotism kid, who only got the role because her mother was part of the production. And it shows. Embarrassingly, this seems to be a common occurrence on her resume. Really makes you question the integrity of everyone involved. But hey, welcome to Hollywood where nepotism runs the industry. The movie itself is just as you would expect. Nothing one hasn't seen before a trillion times and on top of that, worse than something one has seen a trillion times before.
Horrible movie. Watched because John Malkovich was in it. In reality he played a minor role. Bait and switch. The movie was horrible. Malkovich should be ashamed to be in this movie.
