I couldn't figure this movie out.

I couldn't figure this movie out. It sort of feels like a W movie plot wise, a very silly and predictable romantic comedy with the applicable best friend and situations associated with cookie cutter rom-coms. and then because Sharon Stone is 47-52 but acts an immature 22 (partying, friends half her age, sleeping around, waking up with strange men or on friends couches) I also couldn't decide if this was worth watching. The problem is Sharon Stone and Tony Goldwyn do a great job with theirs roles, so you take them seriously but why they're even in this I'm not sure.

Story follows Stone as a middle aged fashion designer named Senna struggling to find true love and professional success over the course of her birthdays over several years.

Ultimately I enjoyed this, the scenes with Senna and her Mum Ellen Burstyn doing lunch are well done, good chemistry with our couple, a sweet romance and I have to give kudos to both (older) actors, very brave bikini beach volleyball scene for Stone and Mr. President does Karaoke in women's tight, hot pink shorts. They look great. How old is Stone in real life because not a line, blemish or wrinkle in sight, yay Hollywood.

This is a truly entertaining movie but I am 68 so what do I know. Everything.

I loved this movie. I do not understand the bad reviews and the audience rating here on IMDB. I found this movie so refreshing a change from all the big budget hoopla out there. Something for we lovers of real life being depicted in film and novels. That All I Wish works to the extent that it does is a testament to its star's incredibly appealing performance, in which she seems looser onscreen than she has in years. Given the relatively rare opportunity to showcase her comedic chops, Stone more than lives up to the challenge, somehow making her character's quirkiness charming rather than irritating. Goldwyn, looking relieved to be playing something light after years of melodrama on Scandal, is also enjoyable. All the characters in this film just have chemistry as a cast. I can't get over how great the acting is in this movie and how it could be so enjoyed by such a critic of romantic comedies.

    Disaster

Not funny, not touching, not clever, not pretty and all of that with a dreadful soundtrack. So technically just a really bad film, but then add in the subject matter; the portrait of a self obsessed drama queen living in a most perverse world created by someone with Hollywood stuck so far up themselves that they have totally lost touch with humanity.

    All About Sharon

All I Wish is clearly a Sharon Stone production. It's Sharon all the way and that's not a bad thing at all. She produced this so you know that her heart, if not her pocketbook is into this. She plays Senna a woman of '47', is what she says in the film, and she's a bit of a bad girl still, having fun with younger men and doing doobies with her younger best friend.

In pops Tony Goldwyn and she falls for the guy, but to me it's clear that he is miscast. I was thinking that if say, Burt Reynolds were the guy there would be much more to go on. Goldwyn's character just isn't attuned to Senna.

The script is clearly not quite there in terms of drama, jump cutting here and there... and although it goes year by year, with every birthday Senna has, the thread is lost somehow. The romance a tad derivative in the end, leaving the players too much on screen time.

The film is too long. Sharon Stone is very good, and one wishes her more screen time in future.

    Tony Goldwyn is a God

Story is kind of meh but Tony Goldwyn makes it worth the watch. He brings depth and emotion that draws you in and helps you make it to the end.

    • Trivia
In several interviews, Susan Walter explains how she originally wrote a coming of age comedy about a 25 year old woman. Because she wanted somebody tough and vibrant to play the mother, she sent the script to Sharon Stone. Sharon called her and said : "No, no, no. Don't make it a coming of age comedy about somebody in their twenties. Been there. Done that. Make it about a woman in her fifties and now you have something fresh. I'm not playing the mother...I'm playing the lead!"

During the beach scene where Senna says she's going to stay for the sunset, the sun has almost set then it's back up in the sky. Then later in the scene it's even higher in the sky.
