All in all a clever but unoriginal take on adolescence and school. It was a sweet story about some friendships and romance with a few funny moments. It's on Hulu. What else does anyone need to know.
And P. S. someone saying a girl fingered everyone in the school isn't "far left" messaging and neither is Hallmark "far right." Sheesh what's wrong with this country these days?

As I sat down to watch the 2022 romantic comedy from writers Kirsten King and Casey Rackham I wasn't really expecting a whole lot, since this was clearly aimed at a younger audience. But I figured I would give the movie a view, since I hadn't already seen it.
And I must admit that director Sammi Cohen managed to put the storyline to life on the screen in a very entertaining and enjoyable way. This movie was entertaining from beginning to end, and I think it had a very beautiful message at heart as well.
The storyline in "Crush" is well-written, and it encompasses a multitude of different aspects actually, and with it mainly being that of finding true love and being comfortable with whom and what you are. So thumbs up to writers Kirsten King and Casey Rackham for their accomplishment.
Now, "Crush" wouldn't have been such an enjoyable movie without the cast ensemble that they had managed to put together for the various roles and characters. I am not familiar with lead actresses Rowan Blanchard (playing Paige) and Auli'i Cravalho (playing AJ), but they were so well-cast for the movie and their roles, not to mention they had great on-screen chemistry together. They really brought a lot of charm and layers to the movie. "Crush" also had some memorable performances and appearances from Isabella Ferreira (playing Gabriela), Aasif Mandvi (playing Coach Murray) and Megan Mullally (playing Angie).
"Crush" is a movie that not only proved to be entertaining and enjoyable, but it is also a movie that very much leaves you with a feel-good sensation. I was genuinely entertained by the movie, despite of it being somewhat generic in its storyline at times. But definitely a worthy accomplishment from director Sammi Cohen.
My rating of "Crush" lands on a seven out of ten stars.

Cute, fun movie for teens where being queer is normal. We need more movies like this about girls who like girls where it's not a big deal and just part of their world. Glad kids have this movie.
I need a sequel! Finally, we can have a light-hearted, light-angst sapphic movie. All my life, I've been watching movies of this genre that had straight people in it. I loved those movies too, of course, but seeing it with sapphics really makes it even better! I can finally see myself in this genre. I love this, please make a sequel!

I enjoyed every minute, it's a warm evening sunday movie to finally end the reign of sad queer movies. Something light and fun for teenagers to identify themselves.
