Brecha (2009)

Trivia

Brecha

Edit
Not only was no money spent (all volunteers, sponsorships, donations, free rentals etc.) but video tapes had to be sometimes shoplifted to ensure the shoot could take place, making this perhaps the only feature movie in History with a 'negative' budget.
Once again, true to his first film, all actors except 'Francisco Alfonsín' were non-actors, mostly in their own roles.
The entire film was shot in the one location, the village of Lebrija in Southern Spain where the director lived one year prior to shooting to make the best use of its best 'characters'.
For the 'dead cat' scene, the cat (whose real name was Satan, and for the exact reasons mentioned by the boy in the film), was given a little dose of tranquilizer by the vet for the scene. But, famously lazy, the cat took this opportunity to sleep for a further 4 hours. He was entirely asleep for the next 'your cat smells' scene (deleted in shorter version).
