She tries to get help from both her boyfriend Johnny and a Detective Hastings, as the calls from the man become more and more frightening.

When a 3rd rate magician named Karl Zellar is talked by his wife Jeanne into doing one final show at her friend William Edwards club, the show is a huge disaster. Zellar is then driven mad by this failure and jealousy that Jeanne and William are having an affair and turns to murder through the mysterious art of hypnotism.

Detectives Loomis and Spencer are perplexed by a series of murders being committed by women who after hearing an odd signal over the phone which places them in a hypnotic trance and a voice on the phone then commands them to kill their significant others and then the women later kill themselves while in the interrogation room.
