- A couple buy a beautiful home in an upper-class neighbourhood where a murder-suicide occurred. However, when strange events begin to happen, they soon suspect their new neighbour may have played a part in the killings.
- Newly married, Mark has convinced his wife Tess, who recently passed the bar and is now looking for a job, that the luxurious house he bought for them to live in is a good move. Tess is further convinced by her sister Willow, a real estate agent who handled the deal, that they can easily flip it down the road far above their investment. The reason that Tess needed convincing is that the price, far below what it normally would be worth, is because the previous owners died in the garage in a murder/suicide. With Mark often away for work, Tess ends up being the one to learn about their neighbors: outgoing Shelby, who has an opinion about everyone and everything; Mr. Seever, the weird one who is always walking his dog; and widowed handsome David, who she can proverbially look at but not touch. In often being alone in the house, Tess finds that Shelby and David are good neighbors, above and beyond, especially as there are unusual goings-on which make Tess really uncomfortable living there to the point of wanting to move even at a substantial loss. It makes Tess feel the need to investigate the murder/suicide. In doing so, she finds crime reporter Harmony, who extensively covered the story and has fallen into a state of alcoholism because of it. What she's experienced and in talking to Harmony in combination makes Tess comes to the belief that one of her neighbors was involved in the two deaths, which if true may place her own life in jeopardy.—Huggo
