The Wrong Side of Goodbye

We've been waiting for Bosch to return, and here it is! Luckily, they're rolling it out bit by bit, or else we'd have binged the whole series and be left waiting once again...lol. Eagerly awaiting for the rest of the season...

PLEASE - PLEASE, write Maddie out of it...Madison Lintz couldn't act her way out of a bloody paper bag, and she completely ruins the entire experience. Her deadpan stare does NOT constitute emotion. For the love of God, STOP making us watch her run - UGH!! In the original, the best episodes were when she was off at school (i.e., GONE from view). WHY, OH WHY couldn't they have kept it this way? They can always have her bomb out of the police force as a boot (she's already getting a grand start on that front - GROAN), and decide to go back to school to become an attorney (law school) or something, then join a firm across the country - perhaps Boston? FWIW, it was SO great when her annoying mom (Nina from 24) was killed off the show. Could we be so lucky again? I know I'm NOT the only one who agrees with this viewpoint...! The haters know it, too...

I had forgotten Bosch was coming back in a new incarnation. I'm really excited. People immediately complain about a first episode because it isn't packed with action; it is too slow. But there will be many more episodes. The cases need to be spelled out and the direction stated. I agree that Maddie is just in the way. I haven't enjoyed her character in the past and find her boring in this one. The is not dependable. She is trying to be her father, but she is not. Her use of profanity seems almost silly. Beyond that, I love the bulldog being of Bosch and look forward to following him to the end.

Starting off with lots of interest in these leading stars role. Like Water Rats, something all the time happening. This show caught me by surprise. It show what goes on in life. Actors act it out. Preventions to look out for. Got my interest. Bosh: legacy ,the show. Good watching.

Poorly written and directed, huge let down. Edginess and pace form original series is missing. Kind of flat. Freevee? Seriously? Travis, you benched the first team and sent in the scrubs.

So a new environment for Bosch. A kind of Bosch - Picard. It's still setting the scene and characters. A few holdovers. Honey is not as upper class as she was but she has got PTSD from being shot. Bosch has a new sidekick who does all the techy stuff. No mention of cost here cos sidekicks ain't cheap when it's your own dime.

Maddy is the rookie cop arc. Not sure where this is going because it's not really new. A thousand shows have done it before. But it's watchable and has potential for cop humour.

The start is very Raymond Chandler. Millionaire recluse hires Bosch. Big dark mansion. Potential inheritance conflict.

The story is not the greatest but it paces along nicely.
