Stefan, a guy who falls in love too easily, finds himself enamored with the mysterious, engaged Katie, whose wedding is disrupted first by Stefan and then by everyone in the wedding party dying. This leads to a Hitchockian chase with the lovers fleeing the cops as they try to discover who actually killed Katie's in-laws (if she didn't do it herself). Like a lot of Hitchcock movies (notably Suspicion), Wedding Season's central romance would be doomed outside of Hollywoood logic, something the writers acknowledge that in a way Hitchock movies never do.
Meanwhile, flashbacks detail the Stefan and Katie's peculiar romance through a series of weddings they both attend.
This is all a lot of fun, wit lots of humor an suspense and an intelligent view of love. The leads and general cast are likable and there's a hilarious performance by Poppy Liu (inexplicably not currently credited in the IMDB listing) as an instagram-happy bride.
Except for the effect of a final, super-annoying twist in the last 30 seconds, the result is very satisfactory.
In spite of my aggravation with the ending, I recommend this.

I don't get it why so much hate? It's a pretty descent work with relatable characters and a decent dose of romance, action and mystery 😊 I am not saying it's the best mystery series out there, but definitely enjoyable and way above average. In any case, since there are not so many murder mysteries out there, it's definitely worth a watch, and it's in no case a waste of time. Also the British scenery gives a touch to the story and more specifically to the comical parts of the plot. And lastly, the chemistry between the two main characters is quite believable and relatable. All in all, I really enjoyed it.
This is a unique smart funny series - and it's fun to be along for the ride ......... until the end.
The cast is perfect! So is the music and most of the clothes. Great music. Had to say that twice, it's so good.
It's a bit twisty - not to be confused with twisted. Actually, it is sort of twisted too.
Stephen loves Katie and Katie is nuts. They go back and forth, as does the story. OH! This is NOT a series that you can do 5 other things while watching it. There are times when you have to pay attention or you lose your place quickly.
The wedding reception of the friends was one of the most endearing segments on film I have ever seen. It was as close to perfect as anything could get. It made me Happy.
The ending was chaotic and funny as hell. The final bride made the show worth it!! She's BRILLIANT! Give her a few scenes and you'll love her.
But Katie Katie Katie. What is Stephen supposed to do with you?
If they took the humor out, this could be a study of the lives of people today and how convoluted our lives and relationships can be.
Thank goodness for friends. And DO enjoy the music. It's wonderful!!

I enjoyed this series and binged all episodes in 1 night. If you understand the "wink"' (we're having FUN with this and you should too!), it was fun and enjoyable. I agree that Katie was "annoying" but her ever changing story (lies) was what kept my attention and was the fun. There were enough twists to keep me from predicting the next thing and the jumping from multiple past stories to present was well done.
The best aspect for me was the enduring college friendships that made an unlikely group of people "family".
Don't take it too seriously, just watch for fun and be entertained. There's a cliff hanger in the last episode and I hope it returns for a second season.

This show is really so good, intriguing, thematic, Great acting, fun characters, moral questions, not too too dark. It's crazy what doesn't take, there's almost TOO many good short series now that ppl miss the really good ones (although even older that really good deep scifi Netflix show with Emma stone-nobody talked about it but it was really good). Also Rosa is amazing! Loved her in maze runner-Brenda deserved more! She's like Aubrey plaza before Aubrey plaza and Jenna Ortega before Jenna Ortega. It's crazy she hasn't become more popular/famous. I hope she gets another good project.
The ending is abrupt but totally in line with the tone and themes of the entire show so it doesn't feel too jilting. I don't even think they meant it to be a cliffhanger? I think they just really wanted to end the show there purposely.

- TriviaTwo actors connected to Vikings (2013) are on opposite sides in this series: Gavin Drea is Rosa Salazar's lover and has recently played a role in Vikings: Valhalla (2022) while Ivan Kaye who is best known for his prominent part as King Aelle in Vikings (2013) now plays the father of Rosa Salazar's husband, hence is a natural opponent to Drea's character.
