Story was good.
Cinematography is poor. Camera is never held steady. Found it a little irritating to the eye. I watched in my home theater. Maybe it doesn't bother much on a smaller screen.
Could have reduced at least 30 minutes off the movie.
Surprised by some rating 10 of 10. Maybe to encourage a low budget regional Kannada movie.
Feels like this is the first movie for actors and the technical team. They have the potential for better movies in future.

The overall story is to good and unique. There is no distraction of songs and other unwanted masala. The second half keeps us on the edge of the seat. But, the climax spoils the intensity. Not because of the story, but the execution which is below par. Police inspector, acting like a helpless kid to stop the murder spoils the mood. Adding to that, the villain, reserved to make the appearance only during climax fails, to do justice to the role
. He fails to create that menace very much necessary to keep the intensity. Instead, the police is made to look helples.
First half an hour is boring. They could have made it much more interesting or even trimmedit.
Except Vijay Raghavendra, every other character is new and don't have an iota of acting skill. Though it is ok in the beginning, in the climax, it's all exposed. Also, the inspector arriving alone to arrest the criminal without the gun, even after knowing that he is also targeted by the criminal is just an example of many loop holes in the narration.
Though we can bear all the drawbacks keeping the low budget and lack of experience, there is no reason for the shabby camera work. It is as if a 5 year old kid holding the camera, unable to keep it steady.
Another fact that is not at all acceptable is the glorification of smoking, completely unnecessary.

The film is about a police Inspector who is assigned a new posting and as soon as he reaches there, there is a robbery. He comes to know of many robberies that has happened in that area and tries to find out who is behind them while slowly the story takes another turn beyond robberies.
The first half is not pacy but I might just forgive it for it's a suspense drama and not a thriller. The film has some good acting but more importantly, the supporting cast look really apt for the part. For eg, the constables. Good casting. I am not happy with an over weight Vijay been cast as a police inspector. He is a good actor but to make an inspector look authentic, the casting had to be someone leaner. The wife role, though small, was a bad casting. Her dialogue delivery was unbearable. The dialogues in general weren't that great as it felt Shetty himself wrote some of it as the Tulu sense hits me sometimes. It is surprising that no policeman carries any weapons throughout the film.
Generally some directors would have included husband-wife's romantic moments song(s). But thank god there aren't any songs to spoil the film's pace or the grip.
The film's climax is badly written but ends well though and because it's only 2 hours, one can indulge themselves in it.
Available on Prime.
Can watch with family.

How does this have a 7+ rating ? This is not even close to any good thrillers in Kannada or other south languages.
An investigation with No energy,No brilliance , not even common sense. In first half the SI wander around like a stupid after 3 amateur thieves , missing so many clues out there.
Most actors appear to be amateurs.
People who liked this should watch movies like rakshasan Tamil and Kavaludhari to see what is a good thriller.

Superb movie, especially 2nd half is ultimate. A perfect move for Thriller movie lovers.
Would totally suggest that you check out this movie! A lot has been said about the Malayalam/Tamil/Telugu movies in recent times, very rarely do we have a Kannada movie be talked about. This just might be one of them. (KGF doesn't count in this context, don't come at me)
The story revolves around a Cop who is out investigating a series of robberies , which is connected to something much larger. The film doesn't beat around the bush and gets straight to the plot, no mirch masala, no comedy and drama. Good music, decent writing and the lead (apparently it's his 50th movie and he's legend there?) did a good job playing the role of a cop.
There is a bunch of cliche that the movie could have avoided but i didn't mind it. The overall movie felt more of a crime drama than a crime thriller, it lacked that.....OMGWTH moment, it wasn't.... thrilling, but don't let that be a deal-breaker. Watch it just to support Kannada movies, because why not.
While it is neither the 10/10 that the general Sandalwood audience claims it to be and nor as bad as the movie critics say it is, it sure was a pleasant surprise. A solid 6.5 or 7, maybe. Nothing more, but nothing less.
So, if you're into that and are looking for something new, check it out.

Brainless thriller, main actor was acted like a sensor less robot, No change in expression in any condition. Story is utter pathetic. Producer, director, cameraman all crews has all screws loosen.
Neatly done, full of suspense and thriller, nice storyline, excellent Cinematography, opt BGM.
In total Next level movie for sandalwood.

Nice concept....need more kannada films like this.. but I feel many parts were dragged unnecessarily...
Would give 5 stars for Vijay but Giving one star to balance the unreasonably high rating for this movie. Thousands of plotholes. HE IS AN SI and he doesn't have a gun! The way the script is written in laughable and only dumb people will get "thrilled" by this thriller. Apart from Vijay Raghavendra, everyone is an amateur. The camerawork is also done by an amateur. Don't waste your time watching this. This could have been a really good movie, and the laat killer was such a bad actor with bad voice. Casting in youtube videos is better than this. Who gives this 10stars??

Vijay Raghavendra sir deserves far better shots than just him thinking ..
One of the Best Suspense thriller movie of 2021. Direction, Screen Play, BGM, DOP all are well done and the way they present Story is Neat and Awesome. One of the Good Movie.
Vijay Raghavendra is a versatile Actor. This movie is Sure come back for him. 50th Film of him will make one Milestone.
Debut Director Deviprasad Shetty has shown the whole idea so creatively.

Well they've missed a lot of things just to make the story. Where is fire arm for Sub inspector seetharam? If he had one probably he could've saved both of the villains and take them to justice. Instead he chose to fight so that the movie can be dragged. It's mandatory to Police officers to carry their fire arms when they're in uniform.

The police gets tens of clues, but they are shown as dumb witted and without investigative brains. Hero could have been someone who is looking sharp and not as though always in drowsy look. Wife character could have given to a serial artist instead of the one here. Could have chosen all actors from kannada tv serials who would have given justice.
"Sitaram Binoy" unfortunately delivered a double whammy of cinematic disappointments: an excruciating overuse of silence and a truly abysmal climax fight. The film's attempts at artistic silence quickly devolved into tedious, drawn-out pauses that sucked the life out of every scene. Characters stared into the distance, engaged in pointless tasks, and endured prolonged silences that did nothing to advance the plot or develop their characters. It wasn't artistic; it was just plain boring.
This pervasive silence amplified the film's other weaknesses, particularly the lackluster performances and the disjointed narrative. Without meaningful dialogue, the actors were left floundering, unable to convey any real emotion or depth. The story, already struggling to maintain coherence, became even more muddled, leaving me the viewer completely disengaged.
Then came the climax, a fight scene so poorly choreographed and executed that it bordered on comedic. The action was clunky, the editing was choppy, and the special effects, if you could call them that, were laughably bad. It was a chaotic mess that completely undermined any semblance of tension or drama the film might have been trying to build.
The fight scene felt rushed and haphazard, as if the filmmakers were desperate to wrap things up as quickly as possible. The lack of any discernible logic or realism made it impossible to take seriously, turning what should have been a dramatic showdown into an embarrassing spectacle.
In essence, "Sitaram Binoy" was a film plagued by both an excessive, misplaced use of silence and a shockingly terrible climax fight. The combination of these two flaws created an utterly frustrating and unsatisfying viewing experience. It's a film that fails on multiple levels, leaving me wondering how such a poorly executed project ever made it to the screen.

What a waste of time. Please don't waste watching this movie. Apart from vijay raghavendra everyone is new and they don't have even any sense of acting. A good attempt but camera work is pathetic, background music is not impressive. Overall I would taste this movie 2 stars.. chiat raghavendra is an excellent actor and I hope he gets to work with better directors.
