Teton Ridge Entertainment has acquired the rights to “Lonesome Dove,” Larry McMurtry’s sprawling series of novels about the American West. The deal was made between the entertainment company and the author’s estate and covers all rights except publishing, which remain with the novels’ publisher, Simon and Schuster.
In a release announcing the pact, Teton Ridge announced that development will begin with the first book in the series, “Lonesome Dove,” followed by the rest of the tetralogy, including “Streets of Laredo,” “Dead Man’s Walk” and “Comanche Moon.” The novels focus on members of the Texas Ranger Division, spanning from when Texas was a republic until the start of the 20th century when it was part of the U.S. The books could inspire a series of films or shows — or both.

Earlier this week, the eternally prolific Charley Crockett announced his major label debut, Lonesome Drifter, which will be released in March on Island Records. Crockett is no newcomer: Lonesome Drifter arrives after a decade of touring and more than a dozen studio albums from the 40-year-old singer-songwriter (“I just keep dodging them,” Crockett said of major labels last year when speaking to Rolling Stone).
After teasing the album with a trailer, Crockett released a music video for the title track, the first full taste of Crockett’s record, produced by Shooter Jennings.

Paul Morrissey, a cult film director and early Andy Warhol collaborator, has died. He was 86 years of age.
Morrissey’s archivist Michael Chaiken told The Hollywood Reporter the filmmaker died in the early morning of Oct. 28 at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City after a bout with pneumonia. His most celebrated films as an auteur include Flesh, Trash, Heat, Flesh for Frankenstein and the classic B-picture Blood for Dracula, which starred Joe Dallesandro.
Morrissey’s films also included classics like Women in Revolt and the 1980s New York City trilogy Forty Deuce, Mixed Blood and Spike of Bensonhurst. But it’s Morrissey’s early association with pop artist Andy Warhol that helped establish him as a director and kept his cult status alive throughout his career.

While playing Disney's Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, you're bound to encounter the unsettling sight of the forgotten animatronic heads of Mickey's friends, including Donald Duck, whom you will need to help find the rest of his body parts. Though this is optional, refusing to help these characters is not something many players will likely pass up.
There will be three animatronic friends to fix, including Goofy, Daisy, and Donald Duck. For each one, you'll need to find the pieces that make up their body, which includes the right leg, left leg, right arm, and left arm. All of these pieces, for each character, will be found in a different location, and you will need to find them all to help that specific character.

Blippi features multiple actors portraying the same character for engaging content with a mix of familiar faces to connect with. Over the past couple of decades, the Rolling Stones have looked for any reason to hit the road besides the release of a new album of original songs. They’ve launched tours celebrating their 50th anniversary, reissues of select archival records, the 2016 covers LP Blue & Lonesome, and their 60th anniversary. Some years they headed out on the stadium circuit for no particular reason whatsoever, knowing a Stones tour is a major event in and of itself.
But after a nearly two-year break from touring, the Stones emerged last year with the shockingly great Hackney Diamonds.

The second film from Teenage Kicks director Craig Boreham is unapologetically erotic, with a lot to admire – if you can look past the rough edges

When casting for his second feature, Lonesome, the Sydney writer-director Craig Boreham turned to Grindr. He wanted actors who knew the film’s world, not just of gay hookups and casual sex but the desires that can fuel these encounters: boredom, horniness, intense isolation.
Casey (Josh Lavery) is propelled by all of the above: a country boy leaving his small town to get his “big-smoke slut on”, as his first Sydney hookup Tib (Daniel Gabriel) says. With his wide eyes, ripped torso and cowboy hat, Casey resembles a man hoping to be mistaken for a myth – but glance underneath his hat’s rim and you’ll see a hurt soul, having long internalised that his only value is his looks.
