Make sure you watch the dub.

Oh my, talk about an experience. Sometimes dubbing can add to the film experience, good or bad, well here... it was the whole experience. I don't understand what was going on in this dull, nonsensical mess of a story, nor did I actually care to find out. However what I did grasp; the dialogues were lame and to add to that the English dubbing was so distractingly awful. I couldn't help but get a tickle out of the all grunting, and howling. Yep, more so than the dialogues. I don't know why, but something about these characters whenever they wail in pain after a psychical altercation, or puffing when they're out of breath. I was so amused by it, that I don't really care about anything else. I just waited to hear the next non-verbal release.

So the the gist of it - something about it all, just felt completely off. Like a fever gone bad. Although the droning music score was ace, and there were a couple crude, grotesque scenes of demon transformations and tentacle trauma. But, boy... that dubbing... ugh! Top honours goes to the one voice-actor who gives one of the most half-ass, banal line readings I ever heard. It's amazingly bad. And you'll know who I'm talking about.

Rip off

Disgusting Urotsukidoji rip-off, without the bitter-spicy flavour. Still has some tender moments, and some sweet music, but very little. Doesn't really deserve a place in history. The Japanese acting is not bad, the drawings are better than average, but the script is mediocre, like a student's.

Animation 6/10 Plot 0/10 (rip-off) Music 8/10 Characters 4/10 drawings 7/10 Acting 9/10 Added vintage value 5/10 If you're looking for monster romance, Urotsukidoji is the way to go.

Don't waste your time with this - looks more like a student's work.

A pity, this could have been something more original.

Complete Waste Of Time

This film is available on Youtube because one of the "actors" happened to have posted it there. And thank god he did, because this film is not worth a penny.

The plot is essentially about two mystic werecats that enter a school to investigate and fix *spooky* happenings there, while three students are trying to find true love.

Does that sound interesting? Well, it's not, because the animation is generic and often cheaply done, plus the audio/ acting is badly mixed, badly dubbed, and badly synced.

These plots go nowhere you can't guess halfway thru, and when it does surprize, it's in the worst way possible (altho, it sometimes can be funny- sometimes).

I put this on expecting "So Bad It's Good", but it's just boring and sloppily made, and those silly scenes are few and far between.

If you have any doubts or for some reason are curious as to the full details of the story, just watch the damn thing on Youtube (at your own risk) or (much more bearably) Bennett White's review (on Youtube and his website) and a video entitled "The Dubbing Horrors Of Dark Cat" (also on Youtube).

Side Note: This isn't a hentai or any remotely porny movie, but there's nudity and suggestive imagery. Viewer discretion is advized because of that, too.
