The name of cabaret "Valetti" is taken from Rosa Valetti, a famous German cabaret actress, chanson singer and actress, who in 1933 migrated from Nazi Germany to Vienna and Prague and in 1936 to Palestina.

The character "Jan Hansen" is inspired by several people who were psychics and astrologers during the 1930s:

• Wolf Messing was a Jewish Communist from Poland and fled to the Soviet Union in 1939 after the Nazi Attack on Poland and met Stalin.
• Karl Ernst Krafft predicted the Hitler-Attack by Goerg Elser in 1939 in Munic, but after Rudolf Hess flew to England he and many other astrologers were arrested as part of "Aktion Hess", in which all occult practices were forbidden. He came to KZ Sachsenhausen and later to HZ Buchenwald where he died in 1945.
• Wilhelm Theodor Wullf was working as Heinrich Himmler's astrologer since 1941, despite being under arrest. He predicted the Hitler-Attack in July 1944 as a "huge danger" and predicted that "Hitler will die before the 07.05.1945 by a mysterious death".
• Erik Jan Hanussen was a Jewish psychic and still was a Nazi supporter. He supported Hitler's raise to power and after his prediction of the burning of the Reichstag he was praised by the Nazis. However a few months after Hitler became the Leader of Germany he was killed by the Gestapo.
