The show is fun. The art is awesome. The co hosts are great. But the main host knows next to nothing about metal working and could not be more annoying to watch. They really should have gotten a host that has some sort of knowledge or at least interest in metal working.
I want to love this show. I like the glassblowing and blacksmith shows, so welding is right up my alley. But just in the first episode, I have a lot of issues with it.
The first challenge should have followed the same formula as Forged In Fire: the first challenge should be an equal playing field. Give them the same equipment, the same starting materials, same equipment, and requirements that are actually clear. Letting people do their own work with their own material at their own workshops is not a fair first challenge. Once the competitors show they have the creativity and the fitness to continue on, then give them the freedom to be creative. In the second round, again, sculptures were judged unfairly because the requirements weren't clear.
I'll have to watch more episodes to make a final judgment, but for now, though I love the concept, I'm frustrated with the execution. There are a lot of improvements to be made.

This could have been so great , I wanted it to be so great but no. Me and my friend were super excited to see this and it's so disappointing. You have these judges that don't give these people creative liberty or at least don't like when people are creative. There super specific for giving them 10 hours . They have a lot of unqualified help and the judges are awful like honestly so snobby that it's annoying. A lot of people I feel like got disqualified for weird reasons. The cast was amazing they did so good but I feel like they were very under appreciate for the amount of work they did in that time uiu. They were just way to harsh on these people for what they gave them to work with. They also were super unclear about a lot of stuff and I feel like that was the result of people going home. Just weird energy so awkward a lot of the time. Music editing everything felt very half assed. A good watch just to see the amazing art work but judges sank this show.
Some cool builds and good welders. The assignments were interesting and brought out unique design ideas from the welders. Where this show lacked was in the host and judges. The host had no idea about welding, and didn't make good jokes. The judges were stiff and didn't interact well with the contestants or each other.
I understand like forged in fire and every other show like this you need one judge who knows nothing about the trade. With Jo Koy it's just painful to listen to him. He tries to make jokes that fall flat and overall brings nothing to the show. Put all this on top of the tattoo masters show is just not original nor enjoyable to watch.
