Two lone strangers trekking on the road - a retired Australian policeman with a dog as his only company and widowed English nurse - meet each other and embark on an epic odyssey in the outback of northern Australia.

After English retired nurse Joan Kirkhope's husband Ian mysteriously dies in Australia, she sets out to find out why he was in Australia instead of in Spain where he told her he was traveling to. Joan meets retired cop Jack Darby after they are involved in a vehicle accident & they end up traveling together. Joan & Jack end up investigating various types of mysteries together & helping each other in this series. Stars Greta Scacchi as Joan Kirkhope & Bryan Brown as Jack Darby.
