I caught up to the manga since season 4 and I've always been waiting for this episode to come out, the manga was amazing and gave me goosebumps and chills to how disturbing and great it was, now watching this episode it felt even more disturbing with the voice acting and visuals stepping up the sadness of this origin.
I thought I had a good idea where this show would go when exploring Tomura Shigaraki's backstory, given his extremely destructive quirk. However, nothing could prepare me for this extremely well animated and directed tragedy of Shigaraki's childhood this episode delved into.
In one scene (you'll know it when you get there..) I felt an eerie, creeping sense of dread.. very akin to episode 4 of Fullmetal Alchemist.
And its execution is bone-chillingly brilliant.
Also very notable is that in these last few episodes the writers have completely done away with "hand-holdy" reminders of what happened in past episodes, allowing the plot to flow very seamlessly.
Overall, this will go down as my favorite episode of the entire show and also the reason I made an account here.

While this episode isn't perfect it's pretty damn close, the whole episode itself is A+ but those last three minutes were at the same time both tough and awesome to watch, my god. One of if not the darkest episodes in this whole show and also one of the best, just wow.
I can only describe this ep with one word: Heartbroken.
I think this is one of the best episodes of the show, the music choice and animation were brilliant and the turn mha has taken, it will never be the same again.
