Roberto Guerra was originally cast for the part of "Leo", but he dropped out to shoot The Secret of Loch Ness II (2010) instead. Subsequently, the part was offered to Michael Fritz Schumacher, Jo Weil, and Frank Christian Marx before it eventually went to Marcel Schlutt.
The parts of "Carla", "Steffi Graf", and "Tobi Rückert" were written especially for Barbara Kowa, Sascia Haj, and Udo Lutz, all good friends of writer-producer André Schneider.
André Schneider's character "Alex Vennemann" is named after the author's favorite writer, Kevin Vennemann.
