Green: 7 Years Before the Heist

Although this was an episode I found to be alright, having it be one of the earlier episodes I watched, made sense. The whole episode is essentially a flashback of Ray's way back into the world. I did enjoy that little prison escape sequence and how Ray and Stan's friendship began.

This is definitely an episode that focuses more on why Ray wants to do the heist and by the end of the episode things become much clearer once you know why this heist is personal to him. I think they nail that aspect and I think it's a positive step forward in the show. I think as an episode itself, there's really not much to go about but still it's alright.

If your wondering where to start I think this is a good episode to start on. This show follows the worlds biggest heist, you can also watch it in any order. Making it super fun. The episodes are titled colors and correspond to a certain point in time:

Violet (24 years before the heist).

Green (7 years before).

Yellow (6 weeks before).

Orange (3 weeks before).

Blue (5 days before).

White (the heist).

Red (the morning after).

Pink (6 months after)

I don't like how I didn't know who any of the characters were and much about them. I think that might be the point of the show though. I'll write a review once I finish the show and not on the individual episodes. I recommend giving this show a try.

I started the whole series from this episode, and I am glad that I did. It introduced Leo in an interesting way but not telling everything about him, leaving more questions.

The episode had action but also human, relaxed moments, which I think is perfect balance.

This episode might also be my favorite because it was my first time seeing the intro, before the title screen, which was genius.

I also liked the look and acting in this episode.

Maybe only bad thing about this being the starting episode, is that depending on the episode you decide to watch after it, it may feel dull or boring. I watched Violet, which was interesting also, but way more relaxed: only to the end having action. Which of course isn't bad but after an episode like Green, it was bit boring to get even more backstory.

If you were wondering where to begin, Green is a perfect episode to start this fascinating mini series.

This episode shows most of the main characters at their earliest chronology (7 years before the heist) bar one other episode which takes place 17 years prior (Violet) - however, that episode is clearly not meant to be an opener, where as Green fits for many reasons.

It gives you a great first impression of the main cast of Leo, Stan, Judy & Bob. Leo is also given some bad news which can be very relevant for the entire series and can help the story come full circle depending on which episode you watch last. The story for this episode in particular also wraps up very nice and the words spoken at the end are a great hooker for the rest of the series.

This is the episode that i started with. Green is a good color, a bit peaceful but definitely not here!

Firstly, i love Giancarlo Esposito and i do believe he did a great job in this episode and also choosing a new character with a bit of comedy after Gus Fring from BB/BCS.

Only problem? The episode is a bit vague, i do think it adds a storyline and a context to the show and i do believe its a good episode to start with but with this pace that i surely know other episodes will not live up to it kinda makes us as viewers bored if they're not as good.

I will be watching episode 5(violet) after this one.
