Anne+ continues its journey where it left of in the series. Anne is writing and wants to publish a book. She and her girlfriend Sara are in an poly relationship after discussing this together and Sara will move to Montreal for her dream job. Anne wants to move there as well, but only after she finishes her book until then she is still living in Amsterdam.
The movie touches on subjects such as gender, sexuality, lust and friendship among others. Furthermore it also dives into Anne's own identity, her (in)ability to communicate, how she deals with her past, present and future and the decisions she has to make now she's paving her own way into adulthood.
I personally enjoyed the series and enjoyed this film as well. The acting is decent and similar to the series. The dialogues never become dull or stale. Anne's exploration of her own sexuality is somewhat relatable. I did find that the sex scenes were a bit more explicit than the series and while I'm in no way a prude, one particular scene kind of took me out of the film as it did not really add too much to the overall story other than a confirmation of a feeling she has (I won't spoil). The ending is somewhat predictable but satisfying.
Tldr: If you liked the series you should watch it.

As a non queer person i loved this movie.
Gives a great look in this 'world'.
The characters are Just so lovable. They prove friendship can make you feel Just as complete as a relationship could do. I could feel the chemistry between them.
The ending was kind of sudden and didn't feel very satisfying for me.
Really hope for an Anne+ 2 movie!

Well, the good part of the movie is that it's all about queer. It's good that it's getting a platform for those who struggle with being queer and have characters and life situations to identify to/with.
On the other hand, that's also the weak side. The plot is really subordinate to this. The story itself is really weak and not layered enough. The film breathes queer in every way, all over the top. Some romantic scenes we're long-winded, but not really supportive/important to the plot. And some scenes were very reductive. So in the end, it was more about exposure of queerness than the plot itself.
I did like the serie way more, so hopefully the makers can continue with making a new season.

This film is pretty alright. It's not bad but it's not fantastic either.
It's honestly a mediocre movie but it's certainly nice to see more queer movies and see representation.
The production quality is pretty average, the soundtrack is nothing wild and the writing, at some times, lack. The characters worked. The plot was sometimes too eventful and at other times too uneventful. I would also have liked to have heard a little more about the book Anne is writing.
Note: I have not seen the show this is based on(?) and I watched the english dub. Mostly because I do not enjoy listening to the Dutch language.

Absolute terrible movie based upon an average but enjoyable tv serie.
The first half of the movie is a forced internal educational dialogue, about finding yourself, being free with your sexuality, gender identity bla bla like this has ever been an issue in the Netherlands. The movie introduce (force) a new non-binary person in the world of Anne+. The sexscenes and nudity are very random and cannot save the terrible script. None of the characters are likable or believable, there is no plot, a waste of time.

I really enjoyed the series of Anne+ and the movie has a very similar style, content and humour. Anne feels very relatable, the acting is good and I laughed out loud quite a few times. It shows sexuality in a very natural way and discusses generational differences on certain topics as gender identity. Al in all, I really enjoyed this movie!
It's really hurtful to the community to show lesbians like that. Her girl just left to another country and she's out partying, drinking at the gay club and instantly drooling over some other girls. Have some respect, seriously. They had apartment together but they can't make time to have a proper FcaeTime call because one of them is at the party or club or whatever. If you love someone or at least respect then you make time. Really don't like this movement, it's false and hurtful and also it shows younger generation and other people that this is okay. It's not. Do a nice show about love, respect and not the one that the partnet can't be faithful and cannot control sexual urges.

A touching tale of young queer love and the complications that come along with it. Very casual feel to the movie, feels like watching people you may know.
Lovely seeing contemporary Amsterdam on screen! It is beautifully captured. Hannah did a great perforamce & love Lou!!
Must see if you're a fan of the series.
Bring this to netflix please!!

.. Exploring polygamy, sexuality and relationships. I found it a heart-warming in all and the main character to be relatable in her ups and downs as she navigates through life as a twentysomething.

Am I meant to feel sorry for her? She has it in for everyone around her, the closest to her, blaming them for it all when she's not looking at what she does to others or how she treats them. How she ended things with her partner, when she herself had the problem of lack of communication. You don't just store everything up until you decide to end it, be an adult and talk. Use your words. Film itself was annoying, just about a narcissistic girl who doesn't know anything. She doesn't really seem happy at the end, the happiness will last a few days then she'll be confused again. Save yourself and don't watch this.

Great movie that tackles topics like being queer, relationships, love and challenges in life! Very relatable stories and shows that it's good to be unique and express yourself.

Looking for LGBTQ+ Dutch films to write a paper about - on that front this is marvelous, an unapologetically queer film that fully embraces itself and reveals gender and sexuality as entirely fluid concepts. Not a fan of its direct lecturing, educating the unaware audience of drag history through a character who is consistently treated as some sort of mouthpiece for the entire community. Generally the film is eye-rollingly on-the-nose, blatantly stating its themes and emotional stakes (the utterly pointless narration is the epitome of this) while, ironically, remaining obfuscated, the central relation so criminally underdeveloped that the inevitable confrontation where insults and accusations fly across the room leaves you cold - not knowing whether those accusations have any basis in reality, you can merely imagine, not interpret (let alone have an actual stance). There are some effective threads, like the lead's trouble accepting polyamory, but if they're not weaved into solid attire, who would possibly want to wear it.

Natural everyday good movie vibe,
Doubtful coming of age movie in an Amsterdam pre -covid setting Loved the natural acting way of filming the movie!
It started as and internet series, and this is like a real grown up film.

I liked this film, it was deep, delicate and it treated an important phase in the life of a young person - first serious and painful break up, and moving on. I really find it quite relatable - especially the doubts, uncertainty, second-guessing and, above all, lack of mature communication, inherited from the characters' up-bringing. The main character luckily finds out her own flows before it has got too late. What she thought was a misfortune, turned out to be a path to self-growth.
The relationships are not easy, both for hetero and queer people. After the first enjoyment, and having a good time, it is really difficult to find another person who will really let us be our true self. Before that, we will break many hearts, and our heart will be broken many time. This is a subtle message of this film, where I appreciate the acting, which is magnificent, but also a story, which is pretty flowless. Good job and waiting for continuation!
