When you mix two genres of love and thriller, it usually ends up into a clumsy disaster. That's what I expected when I watched the trailer but I was wrong. Expert navigation of screenplay and execution has pulled it out in an outstanding way. I remember Tamil director Mani Ratnam's movies like Bombay, where he has actually told a love story in a thrilling environment. But for a debutant director duo to achieve the same is a pleasant surprise. Hats off to the entire team!! The unexpected climax is one the finest ever in Indian cinema history. It takes guts to do an open-ended finish ... especially for new comers..and in Kanada cinema!
Finally watched 02 after curiously waiting since we saw the trailer - and it was a mind-blowing goosebumps movie, probably first of its kind in Kannada! Different bold story and genre is unique and worth embracing and encouraging- just as Appu and Ashwini have done to produce this movie from PRK You forget the actors and connect with all the characters completely - especially Dr Shradha and Osho played by Ashika and Ragav Highlight of movie and its gripping effect on you is the BGM, pleasing voice in songs and mesmerising music by Vivaan, Ninagagi touches your heart and Nashe seeps into your very soul and stays with you for long!
Location and cinematography is simply stunning and teleports you to the beach, lighthouse and labs Cultural context weaved into story is clever and works effortlessly, giving a seamless switch from lab science story in one place to old school meen curry romance in Mangaluru Medical & research setting is very detailed and accurate, will inspire young minds with its message of striving to do what's not been done before Must watch in theatres movie for its overall experience of all elements of past, present and possible future coming together in right crisp proportion & executed excellently by debut Directors Prashanth Raj and Raghav Nayak! Big applause to 02 team for Kannada content on par with any other industry in India and the world! 100 10/10 for 02! Proud of our KFI!

Alright so after a month long wait I get to watch this amazing movie which I guess is one of its kind for Kannada film industry. There are 3 reasons that I would like to state for writing this review 1. PRK production house is one of the very known film makers in Kannada industry and have given a real masterpiece The crew and cast have done a wonderful job .. Enthralling exciting coupled with romance and medical thriller 2. Movie made by childhood buddy and there was no way I could miss out on his dream maiden venture.. God bless and you were just great in handling everything... True pro 3. My best friend's daughter albeit a small role ahead excels very well in the role. God bless the entire team and wish you all the very best.
The dynamic duo Prashanth & Raghav broke the stereotypical format of a Kannada movie with their debut venture 'O2'. They proved that movies don't have to be just a love story, fight, family drama, action and peppy songs. Movies can also be made with simple story, relatable characters, information, authenticity and passion. In simple words it's like the best meal blended together with right amount of ingredients. ( cinematography, music, gripping story line, amazing star cast, extensive research and appropriate background score.)
For all those who complain of not having quality Kannada movies, here you have a good content oriented movie, 'O2'.
This is your time to embrace the change and promote passionate & visionary movie makers. 'O2' is certainly a new age cinema with a fresh breath of air. A very well executed movie with nuances of thriller, love, science, medical and metaphysical elements.
Walk into a theatre just not for the two hour of entertainment, watch the movie for those who dream, breathe and live for cinema. We as audiences, If we don't make movies like this work, there won't be anyone who dares to experiment and pursue their passion.
Like how they say it takes a village to raise a child, I think it takes an entire country to make one good movie. My appreciation to the entire cast and crew who relentlessly worked to make this a grand success! It's impressive to know how diligently the directors have shown their brilliance (no where it's seen as a work of first timer).
Raghav, You have donned two perfect hats as an actor and as a director! You are so natural as a RJ and sound awesome!
Ashika, This movie is truly a game changer and you are perfect in your doctor's character. Every emotion is portrayed so well- sadness, grief, perseverance, vulnerability, trauma and subtle happiness!
There are other actors who were truly amazing. All in all it's a great movie and some of the flaws can be overlooked as they weren't glaring for a first timer show.
For all our 'Appu' fans, this movie will be super special as it was his last approved project. It's sad Appu isn't amongst us to witness his dream moment, but, I think the team has done complete justice putting life into the movie!
Kudos to Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar for her bold decision in supporting an experimental cinema like 'O2' and making all of us proud! Now we have something to brag about!
Team 'O2', you have hit the right chord by touching hearts of all Kannadigas whose choices have changed in the recent times. The matured, globetrotter, world cinema lovers will certainly like an innovative movie like this.
You have certainly set the bars high for your next project!

Brilliant movie with an amazing storyline, soothing music and beautiful acting. Directors Prashanth Raj and Raghav has poured in all their creativity to give this masterpiece. A science fiction which is not very common in Kannada industry is a must watch. Human emotions like love and grief is beautifully weaved into the storyline throughout film, keeping the audience glued with curiosity til the end. Unexpected climax is the highlight which you can look forward to see. It makes you believe soulfull soul connections are for real. Overall an amazing team work love to the entire team and wish you all success. I loved the camerawork and locations. The lighthouse scene with the lanterns was so beautiful. I want to visit that place. Searching on Google for that. Also the yakshagana portion was beautifully shot.
