Police officer Anna and her partner Raimo track murder suspect Jape to an abandoned building. But Anna is surprised to find her own son Niko there too.

Anna stashes Niko in a fishing hut on a remote island off the coast of Helsinki. Returning to the crime scene to try to remove evidence, she bumps into Henrik.

Anna continues to hide clues pointing to Niko, steering the investigation towards an underworld revenge plot orchestrated by Lefa's worst rival, Erkka Tanner. Raimo is suspicious.

Anna interrogates Tanner, who has a watertight alibi and is released. But he immediately goes into hiding when Lefa escapes and comes after him.

Anna decides to frame a small-time criminal and set Lefa on his trail. Niko flees his island hideout, intending to confess. Henrik confronts Lefa.

Anna and Henrik finally admit the truth to each other, but find Niko gone from their island cottage - and heading into Lefa's clutches.
