Plot

Afterlifetime

Edit

Summaries

  • A lowly UN intern finds herself expired on the banks of the River Styx and discovers that Death himself has enlisted her to stop a monumental war that threatens to tear the afterlife a "new one."

Synopsis

  • After encountering Charon and Death, Alexis is ferried to the Realms of Afterlife and discovers that Death wasn't kidding: the place is on the brink of all-out war. As Hades, Valhalla, and the Egyptian Fields of Aaru bicker and skirmish, Heaven threatens to invade to keep the peace. Hard-pressed, Alexis must use every ounce of her statecraft to bring these Realms together to save their very existence.

Alexis frantically mediates between the Realms, remembering Death's fears that the Afterlife could collapse-a disaster that would free millions of souls. But as she deals with crisis after crisis, she finds out that Death wasn't exactly transparent, but honestly, she should have known to read the fine print ... for Death has decided that saving the Afterlife isn't worth it. Better to bring on the apocalypse and let the Universe start over.

As Alexis brings ancient deities to the negotiating table, she must get them to work out their differences and prove that the Afterlife deserves infinity - while hoping to find a workaround to Death's scheming so that she can get back home.

Afterlifetime can briefly be described as The Good Place meets Good Omens. We want to play with the quick wit and humor of The West Wing and the playfulness of Norsemen. What The Boys did for superheroes, we want to do for mythology. In our re-imagined pseudo-modern Afterlives, Alexis will have to forge a path through the miscreants whose awe-inspiring legends have been corrupted absolutely. A heartfelt satirical dramedy about infighting, love, and death.
