Dear Father (2022)
The story is a representation of a growing sense of alienation in the minds of the senior citizens of today's nuclear structures. They are distanced from the mainstream of family action, having been denied the pivotal roles of the now defunct joint families, hence some of them demand attention through the tool of nuisance value. It's an attempt to show the futility of the so-called fluent logic of today's pompous professionals in trying to pin down hapless parents in hopeless debates.

    Absolutely Brilliant

Heartwarming, Awesome movie. Paresh Rawal makes you laugh a lot. Amazing performance by whole team.

Good to watch movie with strong and emotional message at the end.

    Absolutely Brilliant!

    This belongs in the 1960s

The movie is based on the age old Indian premise that a son has to put his father on a pedestal and worship him even when he disrespects your partner at every possible opportunity ( a PhD , gold medallist maths teacher should cook ) , accuse her of infidelity ( just because she comes home at 11 one night) and tries to destroy your relationship. The father character is unbelievably dislikable and hard to empathise with. Then enters the moral police ( literally) who decides to teach some lessons to the couple for not worshipping their father. He does this by leveling false accusations of suicide and murder and what not. In the end, the kids understand their mistake , bring back their father who will now continue to torture them for the rest of his life. Oh also, the couple decides to withdraw their case against the moral police officer because apparently they needed that lesson. Unbelievable!

    Regressive thinking

I saw the movie cos of Paresh Rawal and that also two of them but his character as a father in law is not in tune with today's times.

His worries about children coming late sre understandable but to involve the whole world in it might be good comedy but not workable in real life. His views about money might have suited his generation but if children are earning well they have the right to lead a more comfortable life.

Some of his observations about family life are correct but to think that a daughter in law is good only if she cooks is very regressive.

We talk of educating girls and then expect them to forget about their qualifications and enter the kitchen. Why do we expect only the girls to balance their work and home life with the boys not contributing anything to the home except the money.

Tis a very patriarchal view of life especially now when many girls are earning more than their husbands but are still expected to be second rated.

Let their be equality amongst genders for a smoother life cos as they say that the chariot of life runs smoothly only if both the wheels are balanced.

The movie is superbly made and is a mark in Gujarati film industry

Very rare we get to see this kind of movies in Gujarati..the direction was of top level and about acting its the master himself mr pareshbhai..the movies goes in a good pace and from the start it keeps you on toes..the thrill was very exciting along with the climax with a good message

A proud for Gujarati film industry.

Well acting of Paresh Rawal but moral is bit difficult to accept

Movie is well acted by Paresh Rawal. Movie went bit slow. The father' role is pathetic and some unreal. Anyway in some cases , we can expect such father in real life, however the message from movie is only for Son and Daughter is law, nothing for pathetic father. In current world such father also unacceptable who doesn't respect the Educated Daughter in law. There should be some message for father also, to change his views inline with current world is missing in movie. Anyway It is good and entertaining and specially the dialogue and acting of Paresh Rawal and Mansi Parekh is excellent. One time must watch.
