DONT LISTEN TO THE ONE STARS!

Honestly the best and most substantive wildlife show to come out in years next to his last show. Forrest and his wife are very knowledgeable and know how to handle themselves. They do good work and dissolves these conflicts between humans and animals. No animals were abused and more importantly nor was his kid in any danger. It's a good show give it a watch I am going to school for zoology.

    Great show actually have Answers

I highly recommend the show instead of just wondering about the woods for a day or two and offered a bunch of speculations they actually go the extra mile and get you answers. For example far as I'm concerned they have conclusively proved that the Ozark howler is in fact red wolves. Pause it seems like they damn near get eaten by a bear or attacked by an alligator in boat or something every episode so watch while you can.

These haters are PETA idiots Who wouldn't know a red wolf from Doberman.

    Shockingly irresponsible

Forrest, his wife, and baby travel places to look for creatures.

Most of these types of shows feature likable actors acting out the worst scripting to be found onscreen. This show is the odd one out because the actors aren't likable (more on that later) and the writing is actually pretty good.

The writers spare us from most of the standard fake drama, manufactured reaction shots, whiny fretting, and laughable what-if speculation. The lines Forrest is handed to read are watchable.

What's not watchable are the performers. Forrest comes across as arrogant and frankly not very capable. His wife is along because, um, she's his wife and has an undergraduate degree in biology or zoology or similar (I forget which). She isn't a strong screen presence and in the first two episodes Forrest largely ignores her and doesn't show her much respect when she does offer an opinion. Are we the viewers to think poorly of this couple for some reason?

The answer is a resounding YES! In the third episode they take their baby in a pontoon boat in rough Alaska waters. Forrest then worriedly informs us the boat is not designed for these types of waters and sea conditions. What!?! Responsible parents would have assessed this before putting the child onboard. They sail on a bit longer as the music swells before finally confessing this is a reckless exercise and make for shore. Far from exciting or thrilling, this scene caused me to turn off the show for good. They could have helicoptered in, chartered a proper boat, left the baby in the care of responsible adults, or not made the trip. There is no justification for this scene.

Seven stars for the second episode solving the mystery of the howler, which was interesting. Minus ten stars for everyone involved in irresponsibly endangering a child. No stars.

    Doode's a dwiib and I can't stand him!

When I was a little kid, I traveled the world. One of the countries I visited, the people had an inflatable clown shaped type of weighted balloon. The whole point was to punch it senseless and it always came back up. That annoying toy is what this dude reminds me of! He is so dislikable, it hurts to watch this. I only watched one because I HAVE to watch anything "Peru". The guy is insufferable, has 0 camera presence but thinks he does... in spades! The result is a viewer just wanna play him like my aforementioned toy. Only hoping he never gets back up, and his show is given to someone not as inept as he is.

I was actualIy browsing for an intelligently-narrated animal show that I could watch while I do my work but landed on this instead. I've actually seen him before. Dude ANNOYS animals. Picks them up and talks to the camera while they are removed from their habitat and what they were doing, and won't stop yapping and won't put them back down. He does this in an irresponsible and ANNOYING way Steve Irwin himself never did. Whereas Irwin had a childlike naivete about him that was genuine and somewhat endearing, this millennial reeks of inauthentic and is aggravating to the core. He's trying too hard to copy those who went before him and it doesn't work.

In this show he brought in a wife he claimed to be his (I thought that would be a poser) and first saw her from long shot, and when I glanced back up from my computer, the camera was coming off her, as she'd been talking in close-up. What was THAT?! I had to rewind: the woman is so white and so blonde, I thought it was a white Jada for a moment there! But no: she does have hair pulled back it just looked flat and Q-ball weird there, for a sec.

Anyway, the animals are good but the dumb way he interacts with them tells me clearly he won't make it as long as Steve Irwin did. Too many mistakes. At the end of the Peru show, he's sitting with his kid IN FRONT OF HIM merely 3 feet from the bear, no cages or partitions anywhere! His wife too was there, what was she thinking?? She came across as less disingenuous as he did, and I didn't particularly care for the way he talked to her, but why allow this buffoon to put your kid's life in danger?! Clearly you are the adult, make yourself heard and take action to protect your son. (Can't believe he found a WOMAN willing to mate with him, yo!)

Anyway a very low score from me for this worthless d'wi 'ib and let's hope Animal Planet fires him before he gets eaten on camera. Actually, either way it happens, I just need this to happen and SOON!

    Vaccine propaganda in episode 2

Wild animals don't need pharmaceuticals. They never did and never will. They did not evolve with them and it's a crime of animal abuse to inject them with these toxic poisons. This show is mildly entertaining and interesting but the total garbage propaganda completely ruins any good aspects of the show. I have a feeling the rest of the show is just as absurd. Honestly thr hosts aren't that likable and the show doesn't focus on some of the more interesting aspects of things covered. Cinematography is decent. But overall in the vein of the corny infotainment that plagues cable tv with modern production techniques and slightly better quality. It's easy to watch but designed for mouth breathers and marginally educational.
