A very nice movie, and the performance of the young actors was impressive, and the role of the actor in the role of Valdik was great. The beginning of the film had interests in the character of Valdick, but with the development and escalation of events, he had other interests, and when his mother's illness was revealed, he knew the extent of the responsibility he had. One of the best dialogues in the film was the dialogue with the grandfather. A very nice dialogue, but in the movie they did not focus on building other characters such as Stashik and like Auntie, the lights were not focused right, my final rating is 8/10, a nice movie worth watching.
Honestly, I am not enough of a film-buff to know if it was the directing that transformed a good idea into a painful watch, or was that done at the story-boarding/scene definition stage. Perhaps a combination of them both. Anyway, either way, I have to be honest and say I could not take it any more past 16 minutes.
At first you think a lot of the characters are obnoxious. The main character is spoiled, and the Auntie pushes him too hard too fast during a difficult time. Even one of the characters uses the phrase burning the candle at both ends, but it's not addressed further than that. Which is a tiny bit problematic for me, even though he does gain more independence.
But it's a coming of age story where most of the characters do grow as people along the way. They become a lot more likable too. Not just the main character.
It's not the best coming of age story I've seen with similar themes, but I think it's got some pretty good moments in there that make it worth watching. I don't really see it as a comedy as listed, but it has some pretty nice light moments. I really liked how it covered the different types of lies people tell.
Overall worth a watch I think.

I don't know why but I only seen this movie after watching a reel of this movie. I have lot of hope from this movie that may be there will be some comedy or some suspense or some love angle of kids. But totally disappointed after watching. Starting was nice but slowly when movie is trying to getting a grip, it was slippery !!
Cannot take the grip as per audience want that may be it can hold us. But it failed. Also the friend cannot hold the movie after the girl appearance. Game was not helping. I have to skip the movie to the end for find some interest. But movie wins ! I lose.
I have no courage to watch part 2.

It's kind of a movie you can watch with children and feel safe for them. There is no bad language. It directs children to be efficient but at the same time respects their own hobbies etc. So, the plot deserves at least five stars and I'm giving six which means good, which means watchable. My 12 years old neighbor really liked it and her 9 years old brother also enjoyed. It took them away from their phones, which is not quite easy.
We watched the movie with Turkish dub. (Because kids don't like to read subtitles.) But I also did it just to hear Bedia Ener. She's so natural that she feels like she's the original Mariola. Casting her for Mariola dubbing is the best the this movie has reached. (for my point of view) Pure quality.
Mariola character itself was also well written and fun to watch.
