Boyd and Sara hike into the woods driven on by the voices and get beyond where Boyd has been previously. They encounter some mundane items albeit their presence is a mystery. A tragedy occurs and the work continues to get a working radio.
So pretty much nothing happens as usual, except Donna goes stir crazy, Jade returns to whining and Kristi worries about Kenny.
I have no confidence that these writers can close this all out satisfactorily in the finale, but my OCD completer-drive will force me to endure it just to see!

Everything in this series is done extremely well. It touches nerves and has a decent amount of suspense. The acting and directing is great. What bogs this this series down is the extended mellow-drama and 'weepy' scenes that are both excellent and worthy of watching, but they last for many seconds too long, and add nothing to the complete story as a whole. People watch this to be SCARED, and not feel sentimental for characters they barely know. Now, not that anyone can do anything about it, but you have an average of 6+ minutes of 'flashbacks at the beginning of the show. Well over 2 minutes of rehash, a 2 minute theme song, and then 2 minutes of end credits. It's a FORTY FIVE minute show! Stop pandering to SO many different audiences and tighten it up! The series 'LOST' had the same issues, but far worse. It was a bore-fest with a pointless outcome. Seriously! I would like to see this series survive for at least 5 years because it's very original and kinda awesome. But STOP teasing your audience with meager 'people drama' in each show. Give us some damn guts and gritty darkness worthy of the show's premiere. I doubt anyone will read this who is in charge of production, but it needed to be said. After so many decades of watching garbage dramas pretending to be "Horror/suspense", I really hope and pray you folks keep everyone on cast and crew employed for a LONG time. Bless you all.~
Another enjoyable episode-- but the cliffhangers drive me absolutely crazy.
And with just one more episode left, there is no way this show is going to explain even a significant portion of what's really going on in this strange nightmarish place.
Too bad that Epix won't let you binge watch all of the episodes of this really great series right now. So I envy those who'll encounter this series later on and get to watch all of the episodes in one or just a few days.

I wish I could see into the future and see if this series is bluffing big time that they've actually got a good story to tell us.
There's so much padding, so much talking about nothing, so much LOST style diversion and bait and switch,... if only there was a way to look into the future and see what they actually managed to deliver....... Kidding, I can see the reviews for season three and it's totally a bluff, They've got nothing, they're using the same tricks that destroyed LOST. They don't have a master plan, they have a list of cheesy distractions (attack in a tent anyone?, let's make a radio tower but rather than just get it going let's waste screen time by arguing that the batteries won't last for months, without running it for just minutes to start with, all the talk about maybe we don't realise how good we've got it here in this place where we're picked off by psychopath killers at night, who do talk but no one bothers to have a reasoned conversation with them to see what their aim is, it's lover or silence etc etc ) This is a long con by people who obviously don't understand how to make a satisfying strong story, and we know this because they worked on LOST.
The reviews for season 3 look terrible. Chocker full of bot entries.

Father dies and nobody cares. Eric, who's been in one episode, sets off so much sorrow for no discernible reason.
And then people moan and complain they don't know if they want to leave? "Oh no! What if the radio doesn't work? People will be depressed!" They aren't depressed being stuck in a town?
"Why bother with the radio? I'll play make believe." You've been stuck here for less than three years in this place that doesn't make any sense, and you're poo-pooing a radio idea? Has it been done before? No? Then shut up!
"I think it's time we stop piecing together these drawings that are obviously a puzzle and play a dumb mindfulness game."
The writing for this show is SO. BAD.

- GoofsThe enormous quantity of wires would not be necessary if they just build the radio central in the highest rooms of the house, Victor's bedroom, for example. The communication table would be protected from the night monsters as well as from weather damages.

Jim Matthews: I think things are really shaping up.
Julie Matthews: You're a pretty bad liar.
Jim Matthews: Thanks. I'll add that to the list.
