I'm going to be really honest, i wasn't expecting to love this show as much as i do. I was expecting to swoon and enjoy myself but i really love this show. It was so refreshing to watch a black love story that actually held space for the romance. From keisha's relationship with her mother to justin being neurodivergent, i felt SO seen. Thank you mara brock akil!
Lovie simone was a joy to watch (as always) but michael cooper jr really did his thing for real . The soundtrack goes CRAZY like literally every episode. Thank god it got renewal for season 2 , thank you netflix. If you haven't watch this, go watch it right now , totally amazing!

I wanted to take my time watching this show because 8 episodes is truly too short but it's TOO good to not binge in one sitting!!!! Lovie Simone & Michael Cooper Jr are SOO amazing in their roles of Keisha and Justin, I was instantly taken back to my first love and heartbreak. Their honesty to each other, their moments of immaturity due to their age but their quick realization that their love was worth it, ugh everything about this show was perfection. I really hope we see more from this series in the future, and more work like this from the amazing Mara Brock Akil !!!!!
This show is powerful on so many levels.

Every once in a while, a series comes along that completely sweeps you off your feet-one that leaves you thinking about it long after the final episode ends. This love story is exactly that. Beautiful, raw, and emotionally rich, it captures the magic of young love in a way that feels authentic, relatable, and heart-meltingly sweet. From the very first episode, I was completely hooked.
There's something truly special about the way this series unfolds. The chemistry between the characters is undeniable and so naturally portrayed that you feel like you're witnessing real love in the making. It's not overly dramatic or forced-it's genuine, and that's what makes it so captivating. The storytelling is heartfelt, and every moment, from the awkward first glances to the emotionally charged confessions, is thoughtfully executed. It's like watching a poem unfold on screen.
When I say this series is a must-watch, I mean it with every fiber of my being. I stumbled upon it by chance, and I'm so incredibly glad I did. I went in with no expectations and ended up finishing the entire season in a single day. That's how gripping it is. Every episode flows into the next so seamlessly, it's almost impossible to stop watching. You'll laugh, you'll swoon, and you might even shed a tear or two.
One of the things that stood out most to me is how well the story highlights the beauty of young love-how powerful, intense, and meaningful it can be. It's a reminder that love doesn't have to be complicated or dramatic to be deeply moving. There's a kind of purity and honesty here that is often missing in mainstream romance dramas. It brings back all those butterflies, those moments of uncertainty, the sweetness of holding someone's hand for the first time-it's nostalgic in the best possible way.
And let's talk about the writing-because wow. Whoever is behind this masterpiece, I need to see more of their work. The script is thoughtful, emotionally resonant, and just so well done. There's a depth to the dialogue that makes the characters feel multidimensional, and every line serves a purpose. The story builds slowly, but with intention, drawing you deeper and deeper into the characters' world. You become invested in their journey, their growth, their happiness.
Honestly, anyone who says they didn't like this series must not have truly given it a chance-or maybe they just don't believe in love, because this story will make even the biggest skeptics soften. It's that good. It's the kind of series you want to recommend to all your friends just so you have someone to gush about it with. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.
In a sea of overproduced dramas and forgettable love stories, this one stands out as a true gem. It's refreshing, it's sincere, and it's absolutely unforgettable. I can only hope this isn't the last we see of these characters-or the incredible talent behind the scenes. I would absolutely love to see more from this writer, this director, and anyone involved in making this series come to life.
So if you're looking for a show that will warm your heart, make you smile, and remind you that love-real, young, genuine love-still exists, do yourself a favor and hit play. This series is more than just a show. It's an experience.
Must-watch. Must-rewatch. Must-share.

Wow, Netflix put out a beautiful teen drama about teens living and falling in love in Los Angeles, California. I don't see that often on tv shows even for teens. I really loved this story about 2 different teens that work hard to get to where they want to go in life and also their love life. I like that they parents of both teens care and love and communicate with the kids. I have never heard of actor Michael Cooper Jr, before this show. But If Netflix gives this show another season then I hope that he comes back for season 2. Also actress Lovie Simone put out a very beautiful performance I also hope that she will come back for a season 2. I hope we get to see them in college.
I absolutely loved this series. There aren't many new beautiful Black love stories out there, and this one truly stood out in such a special way. The ending was heartfelt, emotional without a sad tragedy. I was in tears of happiness at some points, completely drawn into every scenario that unfolded, as the story felt so real and relatable. The selected soundtrack was perfectly chosen, and fitted amazingly well, enhancing each moment with so much depth and emotion.
I couldn't stop watching and ended up finishing it in one day. What moved me most was seeing the maturity and deep bond portrayed across different generations, it was powerful to witness love through so many lenses. I genuinely want more. It would be amazing to see future seasons, watching these characters grow and evolve as life continues.
We don't get black shows like this often enough. Thank you to the writer, director, and producer for crafting such an authentic and beautiful love story.
