Actress Edith Ivey liked the script so much that she waived her usual SAG rate for the performance, as director James Kicklighter was completing the film for college credit at Georgia Southern University. In exchange, he paid for her flight, food and hotel.
Several actors vied for the role of Stan, including 2007 Cosmopolitan Magazine's Bachelor of the Year Trey Moore and Travis Grant. However, director James Kicklighter decided to go with film newcomer John Arnold (XLII), who has worked on numerous film productions in Los Angeles and Georgia.
