The highly coveted Julia, came to "Make it in Hollywood"..(did we mention she's Jewish?). She is faced with a very unorthodox situation when she is blindly set up by her friend in LA with an agent who is far from traditional.
New to Los Angeles and California, Julia knows the price of what seeking her big break in Los Angeles will cost, so she aims to find a room-mate to live with her in her cousin Morty's costly mob-owned home.
Julia can finally start settling it appears.. her past seems to come "creeping" in. Needing a connection to her faith and a good bagel, she goes to the synagogue and meets someone, "a Jewish someone," to bring home for an upcoming Shabbat.
As Julia prepares for what she hopes will be an uneventful dinner, her hired date arrives, unaware of the impending chaos. However, when the two Jewish brothers show up uninvited, mistakenly thinking they are saving Julia from the gentile.
Julia gets in a coveted acting class in Hollywood. Apparently, at this place, the teacher has to "see something" in you that you will "make it," or you can't even get a meeting with her. she finds out her methods are pretty unorthodox
Julia gets a booking!. BUT not without dealing with degrading acting teachers and a judgmental agent who suggests cosmetic changes. The breaking point comes at a bagel shop, where a rude comment prompts Julia to unleash her frustrations.
Julia faces eviction from Uncle Mort's mob-owned home. Desperate for funds, she turns to her agent for an off-putting deal, only to be dismissed with inappropriate comments. Attempting a radio giveaway, Julia runs out of minutes and gas.
