    Do I remember right?

Seeing Mary Berry on Bake Off what immediately sprang to mind was a memory - which I'm fairly sure is accurate - of her on this programme interviewing a person who was in the process of transitioning from male to female. I was at school, this would be the mid 70s, and my memory is of a sympathetic and sensitive interview. The 70s weren't the socially conservative dark ages they're often made out to be. This programme was an example of that.

I think I also remember Mavis Nicholson doing (or attempting) a quite probing interview of a somewhat defensive John Cleese (but all very polite, it seemed they were personal friends off-camera).
