The series was produced by the Israeli Instructional Television Centre for teaching English for the seventh grade students. The Israeli Ministry of Education published study books which were based on the series.
Gabi Otterman, who played Debby's brother Gabby in Gabby & Debby (1976), does not appear in this series. He could not reprise his role because he traveled to USA for medical studies. Therefore the original script was significantly changed.
According to the study books, Debby's last name is Sela. It is not revealed in the show.
According to Emergency Room (1978), the plot takes place in Gillman Hospital. There is no hospital by that name in Israel.
