A perfect blend of nostalgia and a freshness. I can't wait for more episodes and the story lines to be extended. I love the similarities of the 90s series and the new version. Many of the actors have been signed on for the series which is a great for continuity. I love that costumes, characters and stories have been updates for a more current experience. This new series is definitely worth a watch for fans of the original series as well as new fans. So far, the characters appear to have more thought out personalities, values and powers which is really cool to watch. I'm really keen to see how they integrate more characters into the cast.
I know it's only been 2 episodes and a 10/10 may be ambitious but I can't express how satisfied I am with this!
Recently, us nerds have had our hopes built up by reboots and live-action remakes that left us feeling betrayed and disappointed. Finally, X-Men 97 delivers!
I'm so happy they kept this kid friendly so my generation can enjoy it with our kids.
So far, the show is exactly like you remember it from your Saturday mornings. Nostalgia ensued within the first second.
I can't wait to see what this show brings us. My only complaint is that they didn't release the entire series immediately but I don't think Disney+ does that.
Thank you Chris Claremont! Well done Disney!

When X-Men TAS first aired in Germany, all the way back in 1993, I immediately fell in love with the show, the characters, the story, the world of the X-Men. I became a fan that day.
Now, 27 years later, I'm a fully grown man and still a fan. When I heard that they were going to continue this show, I was worried. With all the bad stuff Marvel has put out in recent years I couldn't imagine this show being anything more than mediocre. I expected a preachy show, that focused more on ideology and the current Zeitgeist. Boy, was I wrong.
X-Men '97 has superior writing. The dialogue is excellent, sometimes almost shakespearean. It comes with a fist full of nostalgia, easter eggs and fan service. The animation is pretty good, better than expected. Aaand...it has the theme song!
This show is everything I wanted and so much more. I love it.

Greatings from the other side. Like most people, I love the 1997 X-men cartoon. I was worried when I heard about this new version, as Disney screws everything up these days, but so far I like it.
The animation is a bit off, which is wierd when the old version had better visuals, but it's ok. Hearing the old music was awesome. Seeing the sentinels again was also great. The voice works was great too, I think the got as many actors from the old days that they could.
Hopefully they continue or even improve things a bit. I'm not sure where the story line is going, but I hope it's good.
So far, so good. Let's hope it continues.

- TriviaKevin Feige had only two conditions for the show.
- 1.) The original X-Men (1992) voice-cast had to return.
- 2.) The rights for the theme tune of X-Men (1992) had to be obtained.
- GoofsThe name of the series contains a typo (purposefully or otherwise): what should be an apostrophe is, instead, a single open-quotation mark. The font makes the distinction somewhat subtle on the main title screen, though the error is very clear in the end credits, which use a different font.
The typo may be purposeful on the part of the showrunners, to reflect this common autocorrect error in the 1990s, wherein word processors would see the punctuation following a space and assume it meant the beginning of a quotation within a quotation. (It would be not surprising if the typo were purposeful, given the show's theme of Man vs. Machine. Additionally, while the same "autocorrect fail" is still common to this day, there may be a nostalgic quality crafted by intentionally committing the error here.)
It is noteworthy that some streaming interfaces correct some instances of the typo. For example, on some applications that run Disney+, pausing the show presently shows the apostrophe right-side-up.
