I laughed, I cried, I was on the edge of my seat. This truly was 100x better film than I expected. I'm still amazed how good it was! I first thought this will be a thriller but after the first 15-20 minutes it clearly established itself as this action-comedy "we're-on-the-run-from-bad-guys-while-we-goof-things-up" movie and I just fell in love. The two main characters (Donna and Clyde) are just amazing together and made the entire movie so entertaining. I watch indie films a lot but this felt like straight from Hollywood. Rachel Alig is my new hero! This truly is a wonderful film and I recommend it to anyone looking for an action movie with comedy but also moments of somber reality.
The Target List movie follows two scientists, Donna and Clyde, and their attention-drawing contributions to the scientific community. As their medical innovation, the cancer-curing "Wand" unveils itself to the pharmaceutical limelight, an array of difficulties that aim to discredit Clyde and Donna's work catches them off-guard and sets them forth on a path to fight for their lives and dignity. The chemistry between the protagonists creates moments of quirkiness and humor amidst the intensity of their impending situation. You'll find yourself on the edge of your seat, rooting for justice in a medical world infested with corruption.
Target List may not be a big budget Hollywood movie, but it does feel like everyone involved was giving it their all, from the actors to the director and everyone behind the camera. It looked good from scene to scene and about as well-shot and edited as a movie from a larger studio might be. The chemistry between the two leads, Rachel Alig and Justin Ray, is very charming. They have a kind of bumbling, comedic energy of two people way too deep in a situation they don't know anything about. It actually reminded me a little of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. I just wish that had been the vibe from the get-go.
It's marketed as a crime/action movie but there really isn't a lot of action. The beginning really sets it up as a more serious action kind of movie, but there are a few gunshots here and there, a couple of pretty short chases, and that's about it. And not all of the dramatic plot points hold water under scrutiny. Then, once Donna (Alig) and Clyde (Ray) get together on the run, it clearly goes for laughs rather than tension or even logic.
All in all, I wish that either the comedy had hit harder throughout the whole movie, or that the action elements had been bigger. Even so, it wasn't a bad time! It's not exactly high-octane action, and some of the logic falls flat, but for all that, it is still fun to watch the characters run around and get out of wild situations by a wing and a prayer. So, for a pretty fun time, go for Target List.

I don't usually write reviews but I wanted to make an exception this time for two reasons. First, I don't know who these Karens are who left 1-star and 2-star ratings? Neither the plot or the quality of this film deserve a rating like that!
These Karens clearly had alternative motives to give this film such a low rating and their reviews should be considered as valid as Karens' general motions in life.
The second reason I wanted to review this film is because I was truly impressed with everything. The plot was entertaining and suspenseful. The chemistry between the two main characters was great. Granted, they turned out to be more loveable buffoons than first thought but I think it worked well to counterbalance the big pharma conspiracy and the unimaginable cure for all cancers that was a major part of this film. The film is also very high quality and it was pleasant to watch it.
Overall, I gave this 9 stars because it genuinely deserves it and because I will watch it again and again and again and it is difficult to find films that are worth my time to do that.
As for the Karens who think this film deserves the lowest rating you can give to a film, don't use this platform to spread your negative opinions, there are no managers here!

"Target List" is a 2023 gripping action-comedy that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Directed by Andrew Arguello and MJ Palo, the film masterfully combines intense action sequences with perfect comedic timing.
The story revolves around five members of the research team that are targeted by an assassin hired by the big pharma. However, two researchers escape the attack and find themselves framed for the crime and on the killer's target list. The audience hold onto their seats as they witness a highly gripping plot.
The film's pacing is superb, maintaining a perfect balance between adrenaline-pumping sequences and moments of suspenseful dialogue. The action scenes are expertly choreographed and visually stunning, keeping the viewers engrossed and thrilled throughout. The cinematography is top-notch, with stunning visuals that add to the overall intensity of the film.
Additionally, the film explores themes of trust, loyalty, and redemption, giving it an emotional depth that goes beyond the surface-level action. The screenplay is intelligent and keeps the audience guessing, providing a few surprises along the way.
As far as I am concerned, I think "Target List" is a highly enjoyable action-thriller that packs a punch with its well-crafted action sequences, strong performances, and engaging storyline. While it may not break new ground in terms of originality, it succeeds in delivering an exhilarating cinematic experience that will leave audiences satisfied.
