I'm not caught up with One Piece by any means, but that didn't keep me from enjoying this film! The animation and effects are visually very appealing. The songs were tacky at the worst, and while the plot was pretty predictable, just going with the flow of the movie allowed me to enjoy the antics. I'm not sure how this plays into canon (if it IS canon), but Uta is decently complex and stunningly over-powered. I loved seeing the extent of her devil fruit powers, and her dynamic with Luffy was entertaining, too. Besides the crowd being a bit rowdy, I had no serious gripes with this movie. A fun watch, and if you're dedicated to the franchise, probably a lot to discuss too.
One Piece is an amazing TV anime and one I've been watching for more then a decade. So I was make sure to tune into their movies. While this movie was far from their best, I still enjoyed certain aspects. If you tune in to watch a bunch of fighting (which most fans would've seeing as it is a battle shonen) then the movie is not good. Personally, I thought the musical + battle arrangement was innovative, of course it could've been better but the overall story was able to entertain for the duration (until the last part). I personally found the ending a mix of being extremely cool and extremely cringy, Shanks and his crew can't actually show their power because spoilers so it felt a bit awkward, and the choreography is nothing compared to Stampede. The music and animation was great, but Uta felt annoying, its a waste seeing as I thought she could've been the best movie only character. Overall, fun movie but would not satisfy most fans, particularly those who expect the usual style of One Piece movie.
The story is good, normal people can enjoy it, not just fans, and there are some of good tearjerking scene, though not as good as when Going Merry sank
The songs by Ado and the UTA singing scene are epic, and the feels you get when you watch it, it was so damn good I've search and added all the songs to my spotify playlist.
The battle scene are all epic, and talk a lot about their characters, especially those who rarely shown in Manga and Anime
All in all, the movie is a very good One Piece Movie where it focus on a backstory, and makes you love the character, for me this is the best One Piece Movie so far, because you actually feels the story, not just come and see Luffy punch the hell out of the enemy. It's boring
Ignore those who rate this Movie is bad, just because

- They felt oda mislead them to see it for shanks power, where in the movie Shanks did shows some of his power though not all of them, cmon, the even in the manga Shanks is a very mysterious character, and you think Oda will shows it in Movie, when the manga itself haven't got to that part?
- The angry fans because the movie shows a lot of singing scene, i mean cmon, the trailer already shows that the new character is a SINGER, the stage is a LIVE CONCERT, even all the synopsis says so, how come you can't even expect the movie will contain a lot of singing scene? Think a bit before talk.
I don't wanna admit but yes One Piece Red was not the best part in One Piece movies. The story was not solid, and even though I knew it was about Uta and Shanks and music, there was too much songs filled in the movie.
Yeah, I liked the last 15-20 mins with all the action, and also watching couple of my likeable characters (Katakuri) coming back to screen. Apart from that, the first half was not much interesting. Can say, that One Piece Red is a one time watch, although they have done good job with the animation and OST.
Story : 5/10 Animation : 7/10 Characters : 6/10
My Final Rating : 6/10.

I'm a huge one piece fans but most of their movies are lackluster for me. Including this one and the previous one.
It was nice watching many characters teaming up and showing their personalities. The comedies are there and the songs are nice. Ado is amazing and the songs are catchy. The lyrics are pretty good too.
Unfortunately the story is just lackluster and the part where they were all fighting the big boss were just colour and nonsense. You don't feel power from it or much hype (except the end with shanks and luffy).
Feel like it could be better tonally and emotionally. Think it was marketed as shanks movie but it didnt feel like that. They still have to keep shanks secretly I guess... even in the manga shanks is still kinda a side characters with probably the most secrets.
Anyway I love luffy and the bear is so cute. Kuma chan Im a fan.

- TriviaUta is named after the Japanese word for "song", which fits her as a musician.
- GoofsIn the credits, Kaku is drawn with tubular nose, when in fact his nose is square. This is pointed many times in the story, when he is compared to Usopp.
- Crazy creditsThe Toei logo is in Uta's colors of red and white (shaded red and set against a white background).
