Originally was suppose to be the first film by 20X Productions, this film ran into production problems to the point where the film wasn't finished until almost two years after it was written.
The hand that grabs the Princess as well as the heavy breathing when the Mononoke gets closer to her belongs to Nolan Schmidt (who served as Cinematographer for the film). Originally, director Parker Barton wanted to do the scene, but Schmidt refused to let anyone else hold his camera with the exception of producer Christina Barton due to how expensive his camera was at the time.
Several of the cast and crew were frustrated with the development and production of the film. Parker Barton (the writer and director of the project) got upset with Nolan Schmidt (who was originally a producer for the project) for editing parts out of the script that the rest of the crew found unnecessary for the film. Schmidt became frustrated with the project to the point where he dropped out as co-producer, but remained as the cinematographer and editor for the remainder of the project. Chase Bell, who played as the Shogun, was very frustrated with having to wear a long sleeve sweater, sweatpants, and the homemade armor during filming within the South Central Texas heat.
