Mother's Deadly Son

Another Lifetime whodunit with an unexpected twist!

Jacob is a rebellious teen who is suspected of killing his own brother, Ayden in a rock climb race when he falls to his death and no one else seems to be at the scene. Marianne, Jacob's mother, doesn't believe Jacob did it even though the circumstantial evidence is mounting against him. His father and mother are divorced and dad thinks his son did it, also, which doesn't help since Jacob hasn't been arrested and bad blood forms between them. A hounding detective has been assigned to investigate the case to find out if Jacob did it, also but did he is still speculation. A good script and a solid cast makes this an interesting watch! Definitely recommended!

correct

Not impressive but correct crafted. A death, a suspect, the conviction of mother and suspicions of father, provves incriminating a young man, old story of Cain and Abel and a twist just fair crafted. I do not ignore the good looking Noah Fearnley and good effort of Rene Ashton to offer the portrait of mother are good points for a film more about family than about a murder.

Sure, cliches and couple familiar scenes, but a reasonable job, honest construction of tension and few not bad spicy scenes. Enough for a correct film proposing few questions - as sketches, indeed, and a not surprising but acceptable end..

Great movie and performance !

Watch it with my teenagers sons, and we all loved it !

It is a suspense thriller that delves into the complexities of family dynamics, trust, and the lengths a mother will go to protect her child. Directed by Chris Lancey, the film features a talented cast, including René Ashton as Marianne, Brittany Underwood as Tara, and Noah Fearnley as Jacob.

The narrative centers on Marianne, portrayed by René Ashton, who finds herself in a harrowing situation when her son Jacob becomes the prime suspect in the death of his brother, Ayden. The tragedy unfolds during a rock-climbing race between the siblings, leading to Ayden's fatal fall. As evidence mounts against Jacob, Marianne embarks on a relentless quest to prove his innocence, uncovering buried secrets and confronting unsettling truths about her family along the way.

Noah Fearnley's portrayal of Jacob is both compelling and nuanced. He captures the essence of a young man grappling with grief, suspicion, and the weight of familial expectations. Fearnley's performance brings depth to Jacob, making viewers oscillate between doubt and empathy as the story unfolds. His ability to convey vulnerability, especially in scenes where Jacob confronts accusations and reflects on his relationship with his brother, showcases Fearnley's range as an actor.

Beyond his acting prowess, Fearnley's on-screen presence is undeniably captivating. Standing at 6'2" with striking blue eyes and an athletic build, his charisma enhances the character's complexity. His physicality adds authenticity to the role, especially in scenes demanding emotional intensity and confrontation.

The film's tension is amplified by Brittany Underwood's portrayal of Tara, Marianne's best friend. Underwood delivers a masterful performance, embodying a character who is deceptive, manipulative, and ruthless. Her interactions with Fearnley's Jacob are particularly noteworthy, as they navigate a web of secrets and lies that keep the audience guessing.

"Mother's Deadly Son" has garnered attention for its intricate plot and character development. While some viewers have pointed out familiar tropes, many appreciate the film's honest construction of tension and the performances that bring the story to life. One reviewer noted, "Not impressive but correct crafted. A death, a suspect, the conviction of mother and suspicions of father... Enough for a correct film proposing few questions."

The film is available for streaming on platforms like Amazon Prime Video, allowing a broader audience to experience this gripping tale.

In conclusion, "Mother's Deadly Son" offers a suspenseful journey into the depths of family loyalty and the shadows that lurk within. Noah Fearnley's portrayal of Jacob stands out as a testament to his acting abilities and undeniable screen presence, making this film a noteworthy addition to the thriller genre.
