A beautiful sequel to a tragic historical series One and Only which I did not watch but read up as I cannot watch sad ending series. This is a slow burn romance where marriage comes first and then courtship and getting to know the respective families follow. It's very well executed and slowly shows how the couple evolve as their love for each other deepens. The only complaint I have is sometimes the series move so slowly that I have to fast forward a bit. Also, I wish the male lead could be more pro-active in their romance especially at the beginning. It was like his emotions are rarely shown at all and you wonder whether he loves the female lead or not. He only started to show his more romantic side at the last few episodes. Otherwise, it's a lovely series to watch or even re-watch.

FOREVER AND EVER (2021) was a decent C-drama / modern day sequel series, based upon the reincarnated souls of Shi Yi (Bai Lu) and Prince Zhou Shen Cheng (Ren Jia) from the historical romance drama "One and Only".

"A renowned voice actress and a chemistry professor chance upon each other at the airport. They form a bond while conserving traditional crafts and weather storms together, deciding to be lifelong companions."

Overall, this was a well-made, romantic drama set in modern times, as opposed to the historical era as the original series had been. This was a good drama, HEA included, if that is your cup of tea.

I came upon this c-drama on Prime after finishing Royal Rumors. The unexpected meeting, engagement before dating, formation of a trusting relationship and then romance shows that love can be simple and yet beautiful. I love the main characters, especially the chemistry professor who is also a business man who cares deeply about his step family. The couple's similar personalities, opposite strengths and predication to each other is endearing.

The ML's family introduces many complicated situations. The settings, costumes, dialogues and characters are well thought out. There joy in following along the storyline, knowing good things will happen.

There is absolutely nothing not to love in this drama. I wanted to watch One and Only first, but I am not a fan of tragic endings, so I decided to skip that series and directly watch Forever and Ever. I was already a fan of Bai Lu, and it was my first time watching Ren Jia Lun. I loved this pairing of lead characters. The chemistry was great, and the unwavering love between the lead characters was both refreshing and powerful. Bai Lu looks stunning, and Ren Jia Lun looks better and better in each episode. The supporting cast was all great too. The story isn't too complicated, and I binge watched the entire series in two days. Don't want to give spoilers, but if someone likes love stories with happy marriages, no misunderstandings, and complete devotion between loved ones, then this series wouldn't disappoint at all!

The beautiful but tragic love story about the Junior Prince of Nanchen Zhou Sheng Chen and the Crown Princess Cui Shi Yi dramatized in One And Only deserves this sequel.

In Forever and Ever, the stars of One and Only portray modern-day characters that have the same names as their characters in the prequel.

Shi Yi (Bai Lu) is a well-respected voice actress who gets strongly interested in the story about the Junior Prince of Nanchen that she is currently dubbing. Their romance is tantalizingly sweet and satisfactorily concludes the story started in One and Only.
