I enjoyed this show thoroughly. It's heartwarming to see such a diverse set of brides and their families, and also hilarious to hear some of the commentary from the participants. Finally a reality show you can watch with the entire family and not cringe. The host is super funny, yet always mindful to keep the bride's preferences as his priority. Loved some of the designer picks especially Rahul Mishra & Anju Modi's beautiful clothes.
I have been following this franchise consistently over the last few years, so was excited to see it come to India! I don't hate it. Their conscious efforts to include diversity in the show is very evident. You'll see a dusky bride, a size 20 bride, a single mom getting married again and so on.
What I don't enjoy is Divyank D'souza's rolling eyes at a "nitpicking bride" or a bride saying no to cleavage revealing gowns. Come on! A bride is allowed to nitpick, she's paying lacs for her dress and it's for her special day! A girl is allowed to say no to revealing dresses if she's not comfortable in it. There's no need to preach here and label them as prudes. A brides family is allowed to reject pastel shades if they don't like em. No need to generalise everything. If you "dread" a nitpicking bride or someone who wants to see more options, then why are you even in this business?
Also the consultant girls at his studio - they mostly seem like props. Not doing much, just nodding along and recommending random designers. They could do more!
