Jade drops out of university and finds herself back in her seaside hometown working as a lifeguard at the local pool. Rumours are rife as to why she's back, but only Jade knows the truth. Over the course of a summer, Jade and a group of young pool staff struggle to make sense of their lives. Collette is coming to terms with her relationship to her boyfriend, chief lifeguard Steve. Liam can't seem to get the attention of Agnieszka, a young Belarusian he really likes, while Agnieszka just wants to fit in as a foreigner in this small Scottish town. When Jade's secret threatens to overwhelm her, Collette and the others step in to show her, and themselves, that sometimes you need to let your guard down in order to stay afloat.
