I'm a big fan of documentaries, but it seems interesting or topical information always seems to be presented in a dry manner by those who already have a deep understanding of the subject matter.
This show takes the opposite approach, by assuming the viewer has a passing interest in the episode topic and would be more engaged if it's presented with humour and empathy by someone with little or no prior knowledge. The presenters sweet and sassy approach draws out the passion of those being interviewed, and looks at the human impact of each topic in a thoughtful and inclusive way. As a lecturer, I'm always looking for innovative ways for my students to learn, and this is certainly a great way to introduce unusual or little known issues and topics to a wider audience.
I'm looking forward to new episodes!

As a 70-year-old white woman, I wasn't sure what to expect from this show about the curiosity of a famous TV personality, but after watching the first episode, I admit that I liked it a lot. As I continued to watch more episodes, I realized that JVN is an unconventional host, but that he is genuinely interested in the subjects and people on the show. On every episode, I have learned new and interesting facts about the main themes of the show, as well as JVN as a person. Kudos to JVN!
I love Jonathan in Queer Eye (and outside of it on socials) so I was super excited for their own show to come out.
It was definitely enjoyable and I did actually learn a lot, at least a couple things from each episode that I never knew before - which I feel is the purpose of the series.
The little cut scenes/performative scenes at first were a bit cringe but after the 2nd episode I grew to love them and find them funny.
I just binged the entire series in the background while I was busy doing something else, so I don't believe it's necessarily something you'd want to sit down and fully focus on, but it's worth the watch!
Also, people may complain that they can be OTT but if viewers know that's what their personality is like in Queer Eye... why do viewers think it'll be LESS like that when it's their own show? Lol.

The first episode felt like Zaboomafoo after a fabulous makeover teaching 2nd graders about bugs. JVN is amazing and I love his curiosity and just general excitedness about everything. It's refreshing and sweet and made me feel good.
However, I felt like I was watching a PBS special for kids.
YES. It was informative if you have never touched a zoobooks or know what the discovery channel or Planet Earth is.. But I was disappointed. It was a little 'cringeworthy'. I couldn't get through the last 1/4 of the episode because I felt like I was watching an elementary school field trip unfold.
I'll try again, but I can't promise I'll get through more then 2 episodes. Pass for me... might be your thing.

The episode about sugar was the most influential to me. Very interesting, not much I have NEVER heard before but packaged in a very intriguing way. The episode about ice skating was a passion project for JVS I get that but sadly the weakest episode imo.
