In 1998, thirty four unidentified bodies were found in shallow graves in a remote Siberian forest. Despite subsequent police investigations no official explanation was ever offered by the Russian authorities for these deaths. The case was closed three years later. In 2010 a small English TV crew set out for the remote Russian forest. The Darkest Secrets TV programme revisits the sites of unsolved mysteries both ancient and modern. They employ the gifts of a psychic whose extraordinary powers may shed new light on this old secret.. With Jurassic Park being rereleased in 3D this summer and another trip to the island of dinosaurs set for next summer, it really shouldn’t come as any surprise that b-moviemakers are already gearing up with movies like Jurassic Attack for the return of the cinematic dino craze.
Just a week or so ago I reported on The Asylum’s Age of Dinosaurs, in which Ronny Cox genetically engineers dinosaurs that get loose in Los Angeles and only Treat Williams can save us all. Fangoria today premiered the trailer for Jurassic Attack, in which a commando team hunting terrorists crash lands in a section of jungle home to all sort of hungry prehistoric terrors.
Mr. Syfy Corin Nemec stars alongside Vernon Wells of The Road Warrior fame, Michael Worth of “Acapulco H.E.A.T.” fame, and previous rampaging reptile survivor (Mega Shark vs. Crocosaurus) Gary Stretch. Anthony Fankhauser (8213: Gacy House) directs...

Richard Speck: one of America’s most notorious mass murderers, a man who tortured, raped, and murdered eight Chicago nurses one night in 1966, died in prison in 1991.
As evidenced by the trailer for the new found footage flick 100 Ghost Street: The Return of Richard Speck, he's not too fond of camera crews either.
Synopsis:
In 2010 paranormal investigators tried to film Richard Speck’s ghost at the site of his heinous killing spree. The victims’ families have finally released the footage that documents their last days.
100 Ghost Street: The Return of Richard Speck is the newest found footage flick from The Asylum based on the exploits of a real-life serial killer, following in the footsteps of 8213: Gacy House. The cast and crew are listed as "N/A" because, as is always the case with these Asylum found footage movies, they are 100% authentic.

You really have got to hand it to The Asylum. Not content to just do mockbusters of big screen movies, now they’re mockbustering an entire week of programming on a cable television network with Shark Week.
Shark Week reunites 2-Headed Shark Attack director Christopher Olen Ray and writer H. Perry Horton for a carcharodon-a-thon Horton describes on his own Asylum fansite as “The Hunger Games meets Deep Blue Sea.”
Synopsis:
A group of complete strangers find themselves isolated by a wealthy madman on his island compound. They are forced into a horrifying gauntlet where they must survive a barrage of ever deadlier species of shark.
Patrick Bergin (Sleeping with the Enemy, Patriot Games) stars as the wealthy madman. Yancy Butler (“Witchblade”, Lake Placid 3) is his femme fatale sidekick. Erin Coker of The Asylum’s Air Collision and Josh Allen Nazis at the Center of the Earth are amongst...

From the Press Release
Filmmaker Benjamin Cooper is trekking to Las Vegas to premiere his monster movie, Primitive, on day two of the inaugural Black October Art & Film Invasion taking place at The Sci-Fi Center.
In this horror tale Martin Blaine, a Hollywood effects artist who makes monsters for a living, must confront his own inner demon made flesh before it destroys everyone he comes in contact with. Movie-making isn't all parading around with Angelina Jolie and accepting Academy Awards. In fact, director Benjamin Cooper is here to tell us that on the low budget end of filmmaking it's all about being shrewd, making good decisions about everything and playing to your strengths. And Cooper is hoping with all this, and a little luck, his film Primitive can turn a profit.
Primitive is a pure creature feature. It's got the beastie with the claws and teeth, as well as the bloody wounds caused by them. Judging by what we've seen, it doesn't look like Cooper holds back too much on the gore. Kudos for that, Benjamin.
Cooper has a sneak preview for his film scheduled for October 8 at the inaugural Black October Art and Film Invasion in Vegas, as well as a limited theatrical run in its hometown of San Luis Obispo beginning on October 20. In the release...

How can you possibly top Sharktopus? One word: Piranhaconda!
Matchflick brings the news that Dinocroc/Dinoshark/Supergator/Sharktopus producer Roger Corman has another high concept mutant up for cinematic gene splicing, a hybrid of a piranha and an anaconda. Sharktopus scribe Michael MacLean is penning the script to be directed by Jim Wynorski of Chopping Mall, Return of Swamp Thing, and Dinocroc vs. Supergator fame.
The movie revolves around the battle with a creature "with razor sharp teeth and 100 feet of constricting power."
That's all we know right now plot-wise, and when talking about a movie titled Piranhaconda, that's really all you need.
Shooting begins next month in Hawaii. The only announced cast member at this time is Diana Terranova (8212: Gacy House, Milf).
No doubt we'll see Piranhaconda slithering around Syfy sometime in the future.

The Asylum is up to its usual hijinks with the science fiction thriller Battle of Los Angeles. The Asylum is know for their instant classics like Transmorphers, Milf, 8213: Gacy House and many more. Their films are often seriously toned satires and their latest film looks unusually similar to Jonathan Liebesman's World Invasion: Battle La, which was originally titled Battle Los Angeles. Coincidentally, both films release very near the same date, with the Battle of Los Angeles releasing first (February 22nd). Fans of the bizarre can check out another still from The Asylum's latest below and viewers are highly encouraged to view all of the The Asylum's photos for this project, as there is a Michelle Rodriguez lookalike. More details inside.
The in-depth synopsis for Battle of Los Angeles (sarcasm, wink-wink, nudge, nudge):
"In February 1942 Us forces engaged an unidentified flying object above Los Angeles. Now almost 70 years later,...

Directed by: Anthony Fankhauser
Starring: Jim Lewis, Matthew Temple, Brett A. Newton, Slyvia Panacione, Rachel Riley.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from watching anything put out by The Asylum, it’s that they make great comedies.
With parody after parody of whatever is making money at the box office, their films bare such a strong resemblance to their inspiration, that taking one seriously becomes a true test of strength. The latest creation, 8213: Gacy House is a combination of any found footage film, and any film documenting paranormal activity with a handheld camera. What is suppose to make 8213: Gacy House exciting however, is the involvement of serial killer John Wayne Gacy, a man responsible for killing 33 young boys before being sentenced to death. By taking a person and subject that many find interesting and incorporating it into a horror movie that banks on the recent surge...
