Ceroboh

Around the halfway mark, I actually considered being generous, maybe a 4 out of 10. But by the time the climax hit, the sheer, mind-boggling lack of any coherent reasoning solidified its well-deserved 1. This film wasn't even remotely horrid; it was downright atrocious.

The initial idea of a mysterious "Sky Beast" instead of a full-throttle alien invasion was a nice touch. And the whole character-driven, dialogue-only backstory? Okay, fine. Even the limited CGI for a global catastrophe was passable. It was all set up for something...well.. all for Down the Drain.

There's no redemption here. Every act flatlined into plain mediocrity. The acting? So bad it was corny, especially from the female leads.

I think the director clearly wanted to say something profound about mental illness or Malaysian themes, but it felt so forced, so pretentious. He tried to be deep, but just ended up in the deep end.

Overall, "Ceroboh" (The Screaming Sky) is a cinematic flush. Makes no sense at all-poorly written, plotted, acted, and edited. A truly poorly made movie from start to finish.
