Originally presented on stage by writer/director Al Carretta's theatre company 'Exit Theatre' as 'The Tears Of A Clown' at Venue 260, theSpaceUK @ Jurys Inn, in the August 2009 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Actor Paul Kelleher, who performs opposite Al Carretta in 'The Devil Made Do It' filmed key scenes for WYSIWYG and was one of the first cast. His role as 'Donnie's Parole Officer', vital to the pathos of the original stage material, didn't make final cut.
In June 2023, thirteen years after it's original completion, the film had a remaster for it's widest release ever, launching on Amazon Prime Video, Popsy on Plex and various other digital streaming services.
