Writer Michelle Morgan titled the screenplay "Imogene", the name of the lead character played by Kristen Wiig. It is a name she says she's loved since Imogene Coca, who she saw in National Lampoon's Vacation (1983).
Michelle Morgan, this film's writer, also appears in the film as Georgina, one of the upper class aristocrat mean girls.
Includes four Tony Award nominees: Christopher Fitzgerald, Sydney Lucas, Andrea Martin, and Annette Bening.
Annette Bening and Ronald Guttman acted together on stage many years earlier in the play "Coastal Disturbances" by Tina Howe. First in 1986 off-Broadway at the McGinn-Cazale Theater, then on Broadway in 1987 at Circle in the Square. Bening and the play were both nominated for Tony Awards that year.
In one scene, Kristen Wiig's character walks through a casino dressed only in a medical gown. In Welcome to Me (2014), which was released two years later, her character would again be shown walking aimlessly through a casino, although that time she was totally nude.
