Small but perfectly formed, this film manages to explore a surprising number of issues during its short time span - politics, organised religion, death, greed, the inadequacy of the patriarchy and the economic fragility of organised farming. As in their earlier work, Jones have injected some dark humour into the script as well as squeezing some rather impressive performances from their small cast. Cinema never exists in a vacuum and this short remind us of the frailties of human nature under whatever political ideology. As if we currently need a reminder...
