"Que Despelote" changed for ever the public perception that local moves where not capable of competing in ticket sales with Hollywood films.
This film had a modest budget of $35,000. "Que Despelote" proves once and for all that Puerto Rican films are a rentable investment making $350,00 in ticket sales. It became the most sale DVD in the island for weeks after its release. It was also realesed internationally by WAPA America and cable network "Cine Latino.
Although "Vampiros" contained comic elements, this is the first attempt in a comedy film by director Eduardo Ortiz.
