Interesting but Slow Moving

The whole thing with the slaves in the hold at the beginning was quite striking. The diseases that must have spread were awful. Brought to modern times a couple of kids scuba diving bring some bad stuff up from the sea. The bottle breaks, infecting the girl.

At some point the father of the girl gets the disease and he eventually dies. As is so often the case, the disease has been misdiagnosed. The new teenager makes a remarkable discovery based on her historical knowledge of the slave trade (of course). House disobeys orders and gets into the isolation chamber to try to treat the father, but it is too late. Better than the first appearance of the new almost doctor.

Felt Rushed... I just wasn't wet yet...

First off let me clarify. I am addicted and fully in love with this series. Now that being said I felt this episode suffered a slight misstep.

The content and plot of this episode seems to stumble as it tries to desperately pushes to much plot into its time limit. I won't reveal the plot points that are included but they felt rushed. The Dialogue between House and the team loses its cadence and the Diagnoses seems rushed. Also the drama that House's actions present seems hollow and not nearly as dramatic as should of been. This episode would of been incredible had it been a two part cliff hanger.

Unrealistic slave ship

Love House. But lazy writing here. One commentator mentioned that the language spoken on the Dutch slave ship is Belgic, but it sounds more like Afrikaans, which did not even exist at the time. How difficult can it be to find a Dutch person to verify the script? When writers try to find an acceptable villianous culture, they often turn to Germans or Afrikaners, maybe they were in a hurry.

Dr. Broda's story about Janet Parker, the last known person to die from smallpox in 1978, is true; however, it isn't true that she died in four days. She likely contracted the virus on July 25th, fell ill on August 11th, and died on September 11th. Her mother was also infected, but survived.

Goofs
The Africans in the slave ship are speaking Swahili, a language spoken in countries in east Africa, such as Kenya and Uganda. The Atlantic slave trade kidnapped people from west Africa, where Swahili is not spoken.
